You know what struck me first about Tik tak Dubrovnik 2? The name sounds quirky, almost like they’re not taking themselves too seriously – which honestly turned out to be pretty accurate. I mean, this isn’t some fancy marble-lobby kind of place, but that’s exactly why it works so well. Located on Ulica Iva Račića in Ploce, you’re actually in one of those neighborhoods where real Dubrovnik life happens, not just the tourist circus down in the Old Town (though you can still walk there in about 15 minutes, which is perfect timing to avoid the cruise ship crowds).

The whole vibe here is refreshingly unpretentious. It’s a 3-star that actually feels like what 3-star should be – clean, comfortable, and run by people who seem to genuinely care about whether you have a good time. The staff has that Croatian warmth that’s hard to fake, and they’ll actually give you proper recommendations instead of just pointing you toward the most expensive restaurant. I stayed here during shoulder season, and honestly, the value was incredible – that 8.8 rating makes total sense when you consider what you’re paying versus what you get. The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re thoughtfully laid out, and the beds are actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how many places mess this basic thing up). What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Ploce isn’t completely dead after dark, but it’s not party central either, so you can actually sleep with the windows open and just hear the occasional conversation drifting up from the street.

Here’s the thing about staying in this area – you’re close enough to walk everywhere that matters, but far enough from Stradun to avoid the madness. There’s a decent grocery store literally around the corner, and you’re near the cable car station if you want those Instagram shots from Mount Srđ (go at sunset, trust me). The neighborhood has a few local konobas where you can eat without paying Old Town prices, and the morning coffee scene is authentic – I found myself becoming a regular at this little place two blocks over where the owner remembered my order by day three. Parking can be a bit tricky in summer, but honestly, that’s Dubrovnik for you – at least here you’re not dealing with the absolute chaos closer to the old walls. If you’re looking for something that feels more like staying in a Croatian neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble, and you want staff who’ll treat you like a person rather than a room number, Tik tak Dubrovnik 2 hits that sweet spot perfectly.

  The host was very friendly and helpful. Patiently waited for us to come in and gave us lots of tips on parking, restaurants and things to do.

  What could be improved: There are a lot of stairs to climb up to the apartment, but the host is super helpful and assisted us all the time.

  Location was fantastic and the view from our apartment was amazing! The proximity of the property to Old Town and the beach was also great. Some good restaurant options nearby. Grocery stores and nearby taxi stand were also very close. Closet space was good in both bedrooms. Useful iron/ironing board, hairdryer, and drying rack. Host was awesome (we met him when he picked us up from the airport for a reasonable fee).
  
  What could be improved: Bathroom was tiny and it was difficult to keep water inside shower curtain. Also hot water didn’t last as long as we needed for a family of 4. Dangerous slanted stair on the way up to apartment that one of us slipped on and slid down multiple steps—needs caution tape. Master bed was a bit too firm for our liking. Overall the place is small for 4 guests when getting ready. Some things that could’ve been better: 1) would’ve appreciated having more hooks all along the hallway for hanging bath towels and beach towels 2) a coffee maker would’ve been great but host did provide instant coffee 3) some tiny ants came in through the window and onto the counter where we had food so need some ant killer 😉

  Die Unterkunft hat alles was man braucht und das beste ist wirklich der traumhafte Ausblick auf die Küste von Dubrovnik und die sehr zentrale Lage.
  
  Der Host ist super freundlich und hat uns einige Tipps für die Gegend gegeben. Wir hatten noch nie einen so netten Vermieter.
  
  Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt und wir werden wiederkommen!
  
  What could be improved: Es gibt keine kostenfreien Parkplätze in der Nähe, allerdings bietet der Host einen Garagenstellplatz gegen Geld an, was fair ist, da es überall auch etwas kostet.

  Zentral: Paar Minuten von Strand und Strand.
  Das Bett war bequem. Aussensitzplatz mit toller Aussicht. Tolles Restaurant nebenan. Freundlicher Gastgeber, der hilfsbereit war.
  
  What could be improved: Das Wohnzimmer und Küche war etwas klein für drei Personen. Zum Kochen etwas eng, aber wenn es nicht darum geht, reicht die Küche vollkommen aus.

  Appartement très bien situé pour visiter la vieille ville, très belle vue sur la mer, la plage a une minute à pied en bas du logement, les propriétaires adorables qui nous ont conseillés et aidés, vraiment très gentils !
