The address says Vara ulica, but honestly, you’re basically living inside Dubrovnik’s ancient walls – like, literally carved into the Old Town’s stone labyrinth. I mean, you step out the door and you’re already on those polished limestone streets that have been worn smooth by centuries of footsteps. The apartment itself is this gorgeous two-bedroom setup that somehow manages to feel both historic and luxurious without trying too hard.

The thing about staying right in the Old Town is that most places are either tourist traps or they’re so authentically medieval that you’re basically camping in a stone box. This place actually nails the balance. The interiors have this understated elegance – think quality linens, proper air conditioning (trust me, you’ll need it in summer), and a kitchen that’s actually functional if you want to grab some fresh fish from the morning market at Gundulić Square, which is maybe a three-minute walk away. The bedrooms are spacious enough that you don’t feel like you’re living in a ship’s cabin, and the bathrooms… well, let’s just say they’ve figured out how to make modern plumbing work in a 600-year-old building.

Here’s the thing though – and this is where that 9.7 rating makes total sense – the location is absolutely unbeatable if you want to experience Dubrovnik like you’re actually living there, not just passing through. You’re close enough to Stradun (the main drag) that you can pop over for dinner, but far enough down these quieter side streets that you’re not dealing with the cruise ship crowds at 6 AM. I actually loved the morning routine of walking to that little bakery on Prijeko Street for coffee before the city wakes up. The sound of your footsteps echoing off the stone walls at dawn, the smell of fresh bread mixing with that salty Adriatic air – it’s pretty magical, honestly.

The only real downside is what you’d expect from any Old Town accommodation: getting your luggage there involves some strategic planning (those medieval streets weren’t designed for rolling suitcases), and if you’re a light sleeper, you might catch some late-night chatter from people wandering home from the restaurants. But honestly? That’s part of the charm. You’re not staying in some sterile hotel complex – you’re living in one of Europe’s most stunning historic cities, and this apartment gives you the perfect home base to actually experience it properly.

  Absolutely gorgeous apartment for two couples! The restaurant right outside the door was one of our best meals under the stone arch.
  
  What could be improved: Staying in old town requires excellent mobility and strength in order to maneuver the staircases and the cobblestones. Also, noise from the old town starts very early in the morning and continues to late at night.

  The property is in an excellent location in the heart of old town. The apartment is beautiful with modern finishes and appliances. The rooms were spacious with storage. Both have beautiful bathrooms with one larger. The kitchen is well equipped and the dining and living area is a great space.
  
  What could be improved: I loved everything but you need to be aware that this apartment is on the 3rd floor with lots of steps. It didn’t bother us, and the host arranged for help with our bags on arrival.

  This is a beautifully renovated apartment in the center of old town. We were able to store our bags until check in and they were very quick to have it ready for us. Check in was smooth and Davor checked on us multiple times to make sure everything was good. It has everything thing you will need and I highly recommend a stay here.
