But you know what? It actually lives up to the hype, even if it’s technically rated as a 3-star (don’t ask me why the name says 4-star, these things happen in Croatia).
The location is what really gets me excited about this spot. You’re in Ploče, which means you’re walking distance from the Old Town but far enough away that you won’t hear drunk tourists singing at 2 AM. I mean, Frana Supila is this quiet residential street where actual Dubrovnik locals live – you’ll see grandmas hanging laundry and kids playing football, which honestly feels more authentic than staying right in the tourist bubble. The apartment itself has this Mediterranean charm that doesn’t feel forced or touristy. The spa zone (it’s more like a wellness corner, but still nice) was surprisingly well-equipped – I spent way too much time in there after long days exploring the city walls. What I really appreciated was how quiet everything was; the windows actually block out street noise, and the place has this solid, well-maintained feel that you don’t always get with vacation rentals.
Here’s the thing about staying here – you’ll need to walk about 10-15 minutes to reach Pile Gate, but that walk takes you through some lovely residential areas where you can grab groceries at normal prices instead of tourist markup. There’s a small market just around the corner where the owner (older guy, speaks decent English) gives great recommendations for local wine. The check-in was smooth, though you might want to confirm the exact apartment number beforehand since the building has a few units. Parking can be tricky in this area – street parking is possible but fills up quickly during summer months, so I’d recommend asking about that when you book. The apartment gets great morning light, and if you’re lucky enough to get one of the units with a small balcony, you’ll catch glimpses of the Adriatic between the buildings. I stayed here during shoulder season in late September, and honestly, it felt like having a little slice of Dubrovnik to myself – close enough to dive into the medieval madness when I wanted, but with a peaceful retreat to come back to.

Brand new, opened this year, spotlessly clean and superbly equipped – every detail has been carefully thought out. The location is incredible: the view from the terrace is breathtaking, yet the place is peaceful, just a one-minute walk to the large beach and a five-minute stroll to the very center. On top of that, the apartment has its own private wellness area, which is an amazing bonus!
