Hotel Description
So I stumbled across Urban&Veggie rooms while wandering around Dubrovnik’s old town area, and honestly – the name pretty much tells you everything you need to know about this place. It’s tucked right on Obala Stjepana Radića, which is basically the waterfront promenade that locals just call “the Obala.” You know that stretch where everyone walks in the evening? Yeah, that’s where you’ll be staying. The building itself has this sort of modern eco-conscious vibe that actually works really well with the old stone architecture around it, though I’ll admit it took me a hot minute to find the entrance the first time.
What really got me was how they’ve managed to balance the whole sustainable tourism thing without being preachy about it. The rooms are clean and comfortable – nothing too fancy, but you can tell they put thought into the details. I mean, the shower pressure is actually decent (which, if you’ve stayed in Croatian coastal towns before, you know that’s not always a given), and the beds are firm enough that you won’t wake up feeling like you slept on a marshmallow. The veggie-focused breakfast spread is surprisingly good too, even if you’re not normally into that scene. They source a lot of stuff locally, which you can actually taste – the tomatoes and cheese especially. The staff genuinely knows their stuff about plant-based options around town, which comes in handy since Dubrovnik is still pretty meat-heavy overall.
Here’s the thing though – and this is important – you’re literally steps away from the harbor and the main tourist flow, so mornings can get a bit buzzy with foot traffic. But honestly? That’s also what makes it perfect. You can roll out of bed and be at the fish market in two minutes, or grab coffee at that little place next to the Rector’s Palace before the cruise ship crowds hit. The location means you’re close enough to everything that matters but just far enough from Stradun (the main drag) that you won’t hear drunk tourists singing at 2 AM. Parking is tricky like everywhere else in the old town area, but they’ll sort you out with directions to the nearest lot – just don’t expect it to be cheap or close. The 8.3 rating feels about right to me; it’s solid, thoughtful, and does what it promises without any major surprises. If you’re the type who cares about staying somewhere with a conscience but doesn’t want to sacrifice comfort for it, this place hits that sweet spot perfectly.

Everything was fine. The room was as we expected. For me it was the best mattress I've slept on, although my husband found it too soft. We didn't have breakfast there but the smothies and the fresh juices was marvelous. The owner helped us with the transportation and other travel tips. Thank you Ivo!

Breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the restaurant staff went above and beyond to be the perfect hosts. The cook kindly offered gluten-free bread and croissants, and even prepared a breakfast box for us when the restaurant was closed on Sunday—an incredibly thoughtful gesture.
The sea-view rooms are fantastic, with the soothing sound of waves breaking on the marina piers creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
There are also plenty of restaurants nearby, and a beautiful seaside pathway perfect for an evening stroll.Elizabeth from United States – 11 May 2025 (9/10)
Food great. Sorry that we had to leave so early that we couldn’t get breakfast… was included in rate but had to catch ferry at 8 am and breakfast didn’t start until 8 am.
What could be improved: Construction noise outside… obviously not fault of property. Didn’t bother me with earplugs in.Wayne from South Africa – 9 May 2025 (8/10)
Restaurant below serves an amazing breakfast. Recommend the avo toast Room was clean and neat with all the basic. Room as little small though if you have a few bags.
What could be improved: Didnt get the room we expected. Ours was much smaller and room is noisy with a busy road directly below. Couldnt find the aircon remote to close windows to block out the noise. No road noise after 10pm though.Emilianos from Finland – 7 May 2025 (9/10)

Clean, tidy with good window insulation for the road noise and light. Lovely staff. Plenty of space.
What could be improved: Would like some small coffee and tea sachets in the room.Ken from Canada – 30 April 2025 (9/10)
Great location away from the busy part of Old City but still convenient enough to bus or walk. Nice space with a patio. Convenient amenities.
What could be improved: Bathroom was a bit tight with the door swinging inwards.Dianabelle from Finland – 25 April 2025 (9/10)
