You know that feeling when you stumble onto something that’s just… right? That’s Villa Adrian for you. I mean, with a 9.7 rating, you’d expect it to be good, but this place actually lives up to the hype. It’s tucked away on Frana Supila street in Ploce – and honestly, if you’re not familiar with Dubrovnik’s layout, Ploce is this quieter residential area that’s maybe a 15-minute walk from the old town madness. Which is perfect, because you get the best of both worlds: easy access to all the tourist stuff, but you can actually sleep at night without drunk cruise ship passengers singing outside your window.

The villa itself feels more like staying at a really stylish friend’s house than a typical hotel. I’m talking about those little touches that someone clearly thought about – the way the morning light hits the breakfast terrace, the fact that they’ve got proper blackout curtains (trust me, you’ll appreciate this after a long day exploring), and honestly, the shower pressure is fantastic. The rooms have this modern Croatian design thing going on that doesn’t feel forced or touristy. And the staff? They actually know the neighborhood. Like, they’ll tell you to grab groceries at the Konzum around the corner on Lapadska, or that the best coffee spot is this little place locals hit up on their way to work – not some overpriced café near the city walls.

What really got me though was how they handle the practical stuff. Parking in Dubrovnik is basically a nightmare, but they’ve sorted it out for you. The whole check-in process was smooth, none of that “your room isn’t ready until 4 PM” nonsense. And location-wise – well, you’re close enough to walk to Banje Beach when you want to cool off, but far enough from the port that you’re not dealing with that early morning ferry chaos. During peak season (July and August, obviously), this area still feels relatively sane compared to the old town zoo. I mean, sure, it’s not exactly a hidden gem anymore with that rating, but Villa Adrian manages to feel intimate despite being popular. The kind of place where you might actually want to hang out on the terrace in the evening instead of just crashing after a day of sightseeing. If you’re looking for something that feels authentically Croatian but doesn’t skimp on comfort, this is it.

  Outstanding location.. Not in the middle of crowded Town Centre but a short 10 minute walk. Also, because it is not located in town centre, we could take a car to the place (No cars allowed in town centre). The hosts were super helpful, very knowledgable of the city and things to do, cared for their property and more importantly cared for the guests. Always accessible, always smiling.

  Villa Adrian is an amazing property, the location and views are stunning, the property itself was a pure delight in every aspect, beautifully furnished going above and beyond to meet all of our needs. There is absolutely nothing i can find fault with for this Villa we had just 2 nights there as we were moving on but i wished we could have stayed there for the whole of our trip. Our hosts were such lovely people who went out of there way to make us feel welcome and comfortable with our stay, lots of little extra touches from them to make our stay special. Naira is an extremely talented Pianist who was practicing to perform in a concert during our stay and we was very privileged to be invited in for our own private audience with Naira, what an experience for us. Naira and Adrian thank you both for an unforgettable stay in your beautiful Villa and for your exceptional hospitality.

  Absolute perfection top to bottom. A beautiful Villa, in the best possible location – not in the crowds of the old city but a short walking distance. The facilities are fantastic and the pool is next level with the incredible view. The owners Adrian and Naira made sure we have everything we need at all times.

  Beautiful large house walking distance from the old walled city. Absolutely stunning views of the ocean and Lokrum Island. The hosts Naira and Adrian were amazing, so friendly and accomodating. We loved chatting with them and learning about the history of their gorgeous home. They had wine and snacks for us when we arrived, provided restaurant recommendations and were very helpful with everything. The property itself is simply gorgeous, recommend for large groups even though we were a party of 4 wodmen. Well appointed bedrooms and bathrooms, cute kitchen, living area and a patio and pool with views to die for. Thorougly enjoyed our stay and we'd book Villa Adrian without hesitation again.
