It’s tucked away in Ploče, which honestly is one of the best neighborhoods to stay in if you want to be close to everything without dealing with the Old Town crowds right outside your door. The building itself has this elegant Croatian villa vibe — not flashy, but you can tell it’s a four-star property that takes itself seriously.
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Old Town walls, but far enough away that you can actually sleep at night. The Ploče area is where locals would choose to stay, and there’s something to be said for that. You’ve got the cable car to Mount Srđ practically around the corner, and if you’re planning to explore the city walls (which you absolutely should), you can start from the Ploče Gate entrance instead of fighting the crowds at the main entrance. The location score of 9.5 makes total sense once you’re there — couples especially seem to get it, probably because it feels romantic without being touristy.
I’ll be honest, I was skeptical about the “very comfy beds” claim because hotels love to oversell that stuff. But they actually delivered on this one — I mean, after walking around Dubrovnik all day on those stone streets, you really notice when a bed gets it right. The rooms have this clean, modern Croatian aesthetic without trying too hard to be trendy. There’s enough space to spread out your stuff, and the windows let in that gorgeous Mediterranean light that makes everything look better in photos.

Look, Villa Allure isn’t going to blow your mind with crazy amenities or over-the-top service, but it nails the fundamentals in a way that actually matters when you’re traveling. The staff knows the area well enough to give you real recommendations (not just the obvious tourist spots), and there’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t try to be everything to everyone. You’re paying for a solid, well-located base to explore one of Europe’s most beautiful cities — and honestly, that’s exactly what you get. The 8.9 rating feels about right; it’s the kind of place you’d book again without hesitation.

The location was fantastic, close to Old Town, Bante Beach, and out of the way of tourist crowds. The Villa itself is charming with stone, wood furniture, and overall provides a true Croatian experience.
Lastly, I would like to give a special callout to Maria, she went above and beyond for hospitality to make sure our stay was pleasant. Couldn’t have asked for a better Dubrovnik stay.
Excellent location. The only place to stay that is near the old city but not exorbitant. Very comfortable. Located in a beautifully renovated old building. Very friendly helpful and delightful staff. Good breakfast.
What could be improved: Careful! Front door opens directly onto a busy street.
Superb breakfast, open air on the terrace, under an awning, absolutely fantastic on a sunny morning. Staff were excellent and made us feel very welcome.
What could be improved: Be prepared for a few steps and stairs to navigate the hotel, and a bit of care is required when entering and exiting the hotel as it is on a one way road which can be busy at times.
The combination of location and the politeness of the staff was marvellous. Maria, which was our host was incredibly helpful!! I definitely recommend it

We had a fabulous time at Villa Allure for our honeymoon. The room was so cozy & it was in the perfect location.
It’s beautiful charm and friendly staff
The staff were really helpful. We could not ask for better attention. The Villa was within easy walking distance of the Old Town and plenty of good restaurants nearby. The breakfasts were very adequate.
What could be improved: It was not an issue for us and we were warned beforehand by the property but access to all rooms involved some steep steps and no elevators so could not recommend this property to anyone who has mobility problems
Beautiful breakfast every day. Loads of choice and the hot options were freshly cooked and even got one on the day of departure at 7.00am! Really delish! Marija is amazing. Nothing too much bother. Texted us to check on our arrival time and was waiting on us when we arrived. Made sure we knew where we were going and plenty of support for any thing we needed. The location is perfect. Slept soundly every night.
