Hotel Description

You know what? I’ve stayed in plenty of places in Dubrovnik’s Old Town, and this little villa on Stajeva ulica is honestly one of those finds that makes you feel like you’ve cracked some local code. The street itself is this narrow limestone passage that most tourists rush past on their way to the main square – which actually works in your favor because you’re right in the heart of everything but without the constant stream of selfie sticks passing your window.

The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense of… I don’t know, authenticity mixed with serious comfort. The floor heating is no joke – and I mean that in the best way possible. Those old stone buildings can get properly chilly, especially in spring and fall when the Adriatic wind picks up, but your feet stay warm on these beautiful heated floors. It’s such a simple thing, but when you’re padding around in the morning getting ready to explore the walls, it makes all the difference. The private terrace though – that’s where this place really shines. You’re literally looking out over terracotta rooftops and glimpsing the sea between ancient buildings. I spent way too many evenings up there with a bottle of local wine, watching the light change on the cathedral dome. The terrace catches the afternoon sun perfectly, and honestly, after a day of walking those polished marble streets (which are gorgeous but murder on your feet), it’s exactly where you want to collapse.

What I really love about the location is how it puts you within a two-minute walk of Dubrovnik Cathedral – you can actually hear the bells, which sounds romantic until you realize they ring pretty early, but even that becomes part of the charm. You’re close enough to Stradun that you can pop out for morning coffee at one of the cafés, but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the cruise ship crowds that flood the main drag around midday. The villa itself feels like someone’s actual home that they’ve opened up to guests – there’s character in every corner, from the way the light filters through the old windows to the solid wooden furniture that’s clearly been chosen with care, not just ordered from some hotel supply catalog. I mean, you’re staying in a building that’s probably older than most countries, but with all the modern touches that actually matter. The whole experience just feels… right, you know? Like this is how you’re supposed to experience Dubrovnik – not from some sterile hotel room, but from a place that’s woven into the fabric of the city itself.

Amazing place, amazing location, amazing host.
The apartment was perfectly appointed and everything was great. Lovely terrace up top with a gorgeous view over the Old Town and the city walls. We would definitely return.

The location was perfect in the old town, very convenient for access. Mare was there to greet us and show us around the apartment, which was extremely clean and well appointed. The spotless apartment was very tastefully decorated and we felt right at home during our stay. Mare also gave some excellent recommendations for eating out and the choice for our wedding anniversary meal was perfect. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Amazing property and perfect location!! Love being in old town and right near the wall and cathedral. It has everything you need!

  • Wymin from Malaysia – 30 March 2025 (10/10)

Everything. It’s like a home away from home. It has everything you would want in your own apartment, and more. The apartment comes with all amenities that you can possibly need and want. The heating and water pressure are extremely good too. The bonus was the rooftop where we had breakfast atop it with a view of the marina and the walls of Dubrovnik.

This is by far the best rental property we have ever stayed at. The property was incredible, it was so well appointed, the host had thought of everything a group (or family) could need while travelling. It felt like a welcoming home (not a rental property). I would highly recommend this and would stay here again in a heart beat.

  • Rachel from United Kingdom – 25 October 2024 (10/10)

This apartment is outstanding. It is furnished and equipped to an extremely high standard ( SMEG appliances, bathrobes, Rituals toiletries ) like an upmarket hotel. The location is perfect and the view from the rooftop terrace is incredible. It is in a very quiet yet central location and there is no noise at night. Lots of local places to eat and drink, a real oasis in the heart of the Old City. It is spotlessly clean and the communication with the agent was outstanding. Transfers to and from the airport and a porter to drag your luggage across the old city can be arranged and are highly recommended for stress free travel.

What could be improved: Would have been nice to have some written information in the apartment about recommended restaurants and cafes.

  • Catriona from United Kingdom – 18 October 2024 (10/10)

This was an exceptional 5 star property. The location is perfect for exploring the old town. The property itself is stunning and fitted out to a very high standard. It was spotlessly clean and had everything you would need on holiday. The roof top terrace is the icing on the cake. Our host was amazing with excellent communication, recommendations and check ins. We would definitely recommend this property.

Fantastic location in the old town. The rooftop terrace is a wonderful place to chilll after a day exploring! The host Mare was so helpful organising transfers to and from the airport. And checked in with us during our stay to see if there was anything she could help us with. The Villa is of high standard and so well equipped. It feels like home away from home. I would highly recommend staying here.

Superb location, excellent friendly and very helpful host. A lovely, comfortable well equipped apartment in great location. Our host gave us lots of useful tips for places to eat and answered all our questions quickly. All in all it was a great experience.

What could be improved: Just a couple of things such as some bottled water might have been helpful, although there was lots of other things provided so I'm searching for something to add here!

  • Kathy from United Kingdom – 1 October 2024 (10/10)

The roof terrace was the icing on the cake.Fantastic location and excellent service from the host who arranged transfers and showed us to the property.
