Villa Juliet Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Villa Juliet? The moment I stepped through those doors on Frana Cale, I felt like I’d stumbled into someone’s impossibly elegant Croatian home rather than a hotel. I mean, this isn’t some massive resort complex – it’s tucked into this quiet residential street in Ploce, which honestly is one of those neighborhoods locals love but tourists somehow miss.
The thing about staying here is that you’re actually living like a Dubrovnik resident for a few days. In the morning, you’ll hear the gentle clatter of coffee cups from the café down the street (not tourist-trap noise, just… life), and when you step out, you’re maybe a 10-minute walk to the Old Town walls but without any of that overwhelming cruise ship chaos. The rooms themselves – well, they’ve got this understated luxury thing down perfectly. Everything feels substantial, you know? Like the linens actually have weight to them, the bathroom fixtures don’t wobble when you touch them, and there’s this subtle attention to detail that makes you realize why they’re pulling a 9.7 rating. The beds are honestly some of the most comfortable I’ve encountered in Croatia, and I’ve done my fair share of island hopping.
What really gets me is how the staff just… knows things. They don’t hover or oversell, but when you ask about dinner recommendations, they’re not sending you to the obvious tourist spots. They’ll mention this little konoba three streets over where the owner’s grandmother still makes the gnocchi, or they’ll casually mention that Thursday evenings the local string quartet practices in the small square nearby – those random details that turn a good trip into something memorable. The whole place feels refreshingly adult too, if that makes sense. No pool parties or lobby bars with terrible music, just this calm, sophisticated vibe that lets you actually relax. Parking can be a bit tricky in this part of town (like most of Dubrovnik, honestly), but they’ve sorted that out with a proper arrangement that doesn’t involve circling blocks for twenty minutes with your luggage melting in the heat.
I keep thinking about how Villa Juliet manages to feel both polished and authentic – which is honestly rare in a place like Dubrovnik where so many hotels either go full tourist-trap or try so hard to be boutique that they forget to be comfortable. This place just works, and after a few days of wandering the marble streets and dealing with summer crowds, coming back to that quiet street and those genuinely welcoming faces starts feeling like coming home.

Great location, beautiful views from balcony, private swimming pool very clean apartment bedrooms were well kept equipped kitchen
What could be improved: Having to climb the stairs to get to the apartment, but the stairs are everywhere in DubrovnikJenni from Italy – 2 November 2024 (10/10)
Location perfect, just above the old town. The appartenent was clean and the hosts very gentile and helpful.
What could be improved: Only two recommendations might be to state more clearly that there are many stairs to get to the apartment. For us this was not a problem but some one might have been in difficulty. Also it would have been better to have separate beds in the double rooms or at least separate blankets/sheets.Nicholas from United Kingdom – 30 October 2024 (9/10)
Location, space, clean.
What could be improved: The only improvement would be a heated pool in OctoberKerry from United Kingdom – 23 October 2024 (10/10)
Beautiful views of Old Town and Lokrum. Villa was very well furnished and immaculately clean. Owner was extremely helpful and pleasant.

Excellent views of the old town, very clean and comfortable apartment. There is plenty of space for six and well equipped. Great pool and BBQ.
The nearest shop is about 10 mins away but closed on Sunday.
We recommended getting a city pass as it includes lots and visiting the beaches at Lapad ( no 4 or 6 bus) . The 3 island boat tour is also great
The host was very helpful when I left my passport behind ! Thank you
What could be improved: The property was listed as being accessible as it is on one level; however, access is via 90 steps from the road and 200 if you are at the OldTown. This was only inconvenient for us but for people less mobile is an issue, and we feel it should be flagged up on the information.Grant from Australia – 21 September 2024 (9/10)
The view was fabulous.
The location was great. (Near bus stop, taxis, shops, restaurants, cable car terminal)
The facilities were excellent, and the pool was just what was needed.
What could be improved: Nothing other than the steps but you can't do much about steps when you are in Dubrovnik can you!Brian from United Kingdom – 26 August 2024 (10/10)
About a ten minute walk from the Gates of the Old City, this accommodation brought our stay in Dubrovnik to a new level. With ample, well-appointed indoor space along with a fully equipped kitchen, the terrace steals the show. With generous dining space for six, a bbq, additional outdoor seating, the property boasts a private swimming pool, ideal for relaxing dips after a day in the city. An absolutely perfect accommodation.

The flats outdoor space and pool was exceptional. A great way to relax with the family after a busy day in the city. The pictures really don't do the apartment justice, it was lovely. Stunning views of the sea and the city. Great air conditioning which was a real bonus as we arrived in a heat wave. I can't recommend this apartment highly enough.
