You know what really struck me about Villa Malo More? It’s tucked away on Stepinca street, which honestly most tourists never even find – and that’s exactly why it works so well. I mean, you’re literally a 10-minute walk from the old town walls, but you’re staying in this quiet residential area where actual Dubrovnik families live. The morning routine here is something else: you wake up to the sound of church bells from nearby parishes instead of cruise ship crowds.

The villa itself feels like someone’s incredibly sophisticated Croatian grandmother decided to open her doors to guests – if that grandmother happened to have impeccable taste and a serious budget. The stone work is authentic (not that fake Mediterranean stuff you see everywhere), and they’ve managed to blend traditional Dalmatian architecture with modern comfort in a way that actually makes sense. The rooms have these thick walls that keep everything surprisingly cool even in July, which… trust me, you’ll appreciate when the afternoon heat hits. What really got me though was how they handle the details – the linens smell like lavender, there’s local olive oil in the little kitchen areas, and the staff genuinely knows the neighborhood. When I asked about finding good konoba away from tourist traps, the receptionist literally drew me a map to her family’s favorite spot near Gruž market.

The whole experience feels refreshingly un-touristy, which is rare for a 5-star place in Dubrovnik. You’re close enough to walk to Pile Gate when you want the full Game of Thrones experience, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the chaos of Stradun street at 2 AM when the bar crowds spill out. Parking is actually sorted (they have arrangements with nearby spots), and honestly, the 9.4 rating makes total sense once you’re there. It’s not trying to be the flashiest place in town – it’s just doing everything really, really well in a location that locals would actually choose if they were hosting their most important guests.

  The view was absolutely spectacular. We stayed in a a that looked out over the pool as well as the stunning coast. The property was spacious for 5 ladies, the double beds were massive and soooo comfortable. We also had breakfast included which included a buffet as well as alcarte options. The mimosas were also sublime every morning!
  
  What could be improved: It was a bit of a maze to be honest. There were certain lifts for areas of the property but it also led to funny times including lift selfies!! 🤣

  Breakfast was fantastic. There was enough variety for everyone to be happy. The fresh squeezed orange juice and juice bar were a big hit. The location was great and the view was breathtaking. It was a great way to start each day.

  My family and I stayed in one of the Villas and it was amazing! The room and view were wonderful! It was so fun swimming in the pool and we really enjoyed swimming in the sea by Cave Bar. We also enjoyed a delicious meal at Restaurant More. We had such a great time we didn't want to leave!
  
  What could be improved: The elevators were a bit confusing to get to the restaurants, bar and sea but we figured it out after a few tries:)
