You know what struck me most about Villa Misita? It’s one of those places where you can actually hear yourself think. I mean, you’re still in Dubrovnik – you can walk to the Old Town in about fifteen minutes – but Petra Svacica feels like a proper residential street where locals actually live. The morning I checked in, there was this older Croatian woman watering her garden next door, and honestly, that’s when I knew I’d picked the right spot. Not some tourist bubble, but a real slice of how people live here.

The villa itself is unpretentious in the best way possible. It’s got that Mediterranean charm without trying too hard – you know, whitewashed walls, terracotta tiles, shutters that actually work. My room had this little balcony (well, more of a Juliet balcony really) where I’d sit with my morning coffee and watch the neighborhood wake up. The owner, I think his name was Marko, was around most mornings and would chat about where to find the best burek – turns out there’s this bakery about three blocks down that opens at 6 AM. The kind of insider info you never get at the big hotels. Speaking of which, parking was surprisingly easy here. There’s street parking right outside, and during my stay in September, I never had trouble finding a spot. I imagine it gets trickier in peak summer, but honestly, most places in Dubrovnik do.

What really sold me on Villa Misita was how it felt like a base camp rather than a resort. The rooms are clean and comfortable – nothing fancy, but the bed was actually good (you know how hit-or-miss that can be), and the shower had proper water pressure. The Wi-Fi worked everywhere, which matters when you’re trying to plan your days or upload photos. But here’s the thing – you’re not paying for amenities you won’t use. Instead, you’re getting this authentic Croatian experience where you can walk to Gradska Kavana for coffee, hit the morning market at Gundulić Square, then come back to a quiet street to decompress. The evening crowd heading to the Old Town walks right past, but somehow the noise never really carries up to the rooms. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted to explore beyond just the main tourist sites. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re visiting Dubrovnik, not just checking it off a list.

  Nice place near the Sunset beach. Amazing views and clean nice room. Staff was very helpful. I recommend this place if you want a quiet place to relax.
  
  What could be improved: A lot of steps to the beach but it is not problem if you are in good shape or use a taxi. As there is no breakfast in the apartment hotel then it would be nice to have some kitchen facilities. Now there were two plates and glasses. But this is not a problem if you eat in the restaurants all the time. But I did not know that Dubrovnik is much more expensive than Finland. If people are not making much money how they can afford the very steep prices in the stores and restaurants?

  Place was great, good location, very confy and clean. The host was very nice, provided us with fresh towels, water and snacks even, gave us some tips for the city and was overall very helpful. The balcony was great with an amazing view! As an added bonus we made friends and played with the cats there, that would come check our room and nap there! All in all a very enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend!
  
  What could be improved: The only minus of the location, which is in no way the fault of the host or the place, is that it is a bit high up and you need to be prepared to walk some stairs. The positive side is the good exercise after the overeating on amazing food 😀

  The views were amazing. I loved the cleanliness of the room. It's a nice quiet area, very welcoming. It's close to Hotel More and Kompas so handy for pick up, if you are going on excursions
  
  What could be improved: This is nobody's fault, and it can t be helped because Dubrovnik is built on a slope, but the huge amount of steps (hundreds) from beach to apartment was quite tough.
