Hotel Description
So I stumbled upon Villa Odak during what was honestly a pretty frantic search for decent accommodation in Dubrovnik that wouldn’t completely destroy my budget. You know how it is with that city – everything’s either crazy expensive or sketchy as hell. This place though? It’s tucked away on Frana Supila, which is actually perfect because you’re close enough to everything but far enough from the madness of the Old Town crowds.
First thing that hit me was how quiet it gets at night. I mean, Dubrovnik can be absolutely mental during peak season, but this little pocket of Ploce has this almost residential feel to it. The Villa itself has that classic Dalmatian stone thing going on – nothing fancy, but honestly, it just works. The owners clearly know what they’re doing; check-in was smooth (none of that awkward fumbling around with keys that you get at some places), and they actually gave me solid recommendations for where to grab coffee that wasn’t tourist-trap pricing. There’s this little spot just down the street where locals actually go – can’t remember the name, but the owner pointed it out.
What really sold me on the place was the practical stuff that you don’t think about until you need it. The room was clean without that overwhelming bleach smell some hotels have, and the AC actually worked properly – which, trust me, matters when you’re dealing with those sticky August nights. The bathroom was small but functional, and the shower had decent pressure (you’d be surprised how many places mess this up). I loved that my room had this little balcony where I could sit with morning coffee and watch the neighborhood wake up. You get glimpses of the harbor from certain angles, and there’s something nice about hearing the boats instead of just endless tourist chatter.
Parking was way easier than I expected too – the owner helped me figure out the street parking situation, which can be a nightmare if you don’t know the local rules. Location-wise, you’re maybe a 15-minute walk to the Old Town walls, but here’s the thing – you can actually get there without fighting through the main tourist streams. There’s this route that locals use that cuts through some quieter streets, and it’s honestly more pleasant than the obvious path everyone else takes.
The 8.1 rating makes total sense to me. It’s not trying to be some luxury experience, but everything just… works. The WiFi was solid, the bed was comfortable enough, and the whole place has this unpretentious vibe that’s refreshing when you’re surrounded by all the polished tourist infrastructure everywhere else. I actually ended up staying an extra night because I dreaded the thought of hotel hunting again. Would I go back? Yeah, probably. It’s one of those places where you feel like you’re staying somewhere real instead of just passing through another generic hotel room.

Reviews
Very good – Mark from United Kingdom – 6 July 2025 (8/10)
Live in host was a nice lady and the location has great views of the old city and adriatic.
What could be improved: Although close to a good swimming spot it was a difficult ascent back to the villa for a couple of less fit members of our group.Absolutely excellent, such a perfect location and a lovely host – Katie from United Kingdom – 5 July 2025 (8/10)
How close it was to a variety of beaches
Nice Hostess, good property but darker than expected. 25 minutes walking main area. – Dannette from United States – 3 July 2025 (9/10)
Hostess was very kind and accommodating and had rooms cleaned upon arrival. Location was about 25 minutes walking to city walls.
What could be improved: In the pictures it presents that the rooms are brightly lit and there are balconies in the rooms. However, the rooms are pretty dark with one very high window that has an ocean view. There is a balcony off the common room downstairs, but it is shared with others. It’s a convenient and chill place to stay – Siu from United Kingdom – 24 June 2025 (8/10)
It’s well decorated and has a fabulous balcony view. The owner is a very kind and helpful lady

Well priced, perfectly sized place a little ways out of town with the most wonderful views across the bay. I wasn't here long but I feel quite luck I picked this place, as even though it's a bit further out, it means it's a bit more peaceful and I could sit out in the balcony and enjoy the scenery.
What could be improved: The kitchen appliances had some wear and tear meaning it was difficult to control the hob at times. There's also not a lot around in terms of food – you will have to walk to studenac (if it's open, 10 minutes) or into Dubrovnik properSuperb – Robert from United States – 19 May 2025 (9/10)
Nice apartment in a good location. Quite street in walking distance to the old town and the beach. Parking available for 10€. Great views from the common area balcony. Friendly owner and good communication.
Pleasant stay – Aneekah from South Africa – 15 May 2025 (8/10)
Within walking distance of Old Town. Bus stop right opposite so could take bus when needed.
Clean. Friendly housekeeper.
Could leave luggage as we arrived early before checkin as well as after checkout as we had an afternoon flight.
What could be improved: The advertised terrace is not part of the room – it is on a separate floor in a communal area.
Short flight of stairs at entrance to apartment and also room is on first floor – no elevator. Had to lug suitcases up and down.
The name and street number are hidden by foliage so we didn’t see it immediately when our Uber stopped across the street.
The only view from the apartment is of Lokrum island from the kitchen window – if you stand on tiptoe!Superb – Gretchen from United States – 7 April 2025 (9/10)
Cute little apartment. Comfy bed and kind host. Lovely shared balcony with a great view.
What could be improved: It's not far from town, but it is a walk, check out is early– 10 am and there is not any coffee supplied.Good – José from Spain – 13 November 2024 (7/10)
What could be improved: They didn't leave any tea nor coffee as in all the other apartments.
Need to close the main exit door that should be open for security reasons in case of emergency exit.Nice apartment for a short stay in a walking distance from the Old town – Nora from Finland – 6 October 2024 (8/10)
I like the closeness to the old town and two bus lines. The apartment was very clean and had own shower gels
What could be improved: I didn't like the cramped kitchenette.
