You know what struck me first about Hotel Vivaldi? The address actually means something here – Nalješkovićeva ulica puts you right in the thick of Old Town without being on one of those crazy tourist-packed streets where you can’t sleep past 7 AM. I mean, you’re still going to hear some footsteps on cobblestones (it’s Dubrovnik, after all), but this little stretch feels more… lived-in, if that makes sense. The building itself has that warm limestone thing going on that blends perfectly with everything else, but honestly, it’s what’s inside that got me.
The staff here actually know their stuff – not just the scripted recommendations, but like, they’ll tell you which gelato place closes early on Thursdays or that the best time to walk the city walls is right when they open because the light hits differently. The rooms themselves are pretty spot-on for a four-star place, though I’d definitely ask for one facing the courtyard if you’re a light sleeper. The street-facing ones get some early morning delivery sounds, nothing crazy, just… authentic Croatian morning life, you know? What I really appreciated was how they handled the whole historic building thing without making it feel like a museum – yes, there’s character in the stone and the layout, but the Wi-Fi actually works and the shower pressure doesn’t make you want to cry.
Here’s the thing about the location though – you’re about a three-minute walk from Stradun, which means you can duck back to your room when the midday crowds get insane, then head out again for dinner when everything mellows out. The little bakery on the corner (locals call it “kod Marka”) opens at 6 AM and makes these incredible burek pastries that’ll ruin you for hotel breakfast forever. Also, and this is weirdly important – the hotel’s entrance is easy to find even when you’re dragging luggage over cobblestones, which trust me, matters more than you think it will. That 9.6 rating isn’t just because they’re nice (though they are), it’s because they’ve figured out all those little details that turn a good stay into one where you’re already planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out.
Everything was perfect!! Lots of homely touches including a hair straightener and iron. Plenty of tea and coffee making facilities as well as toiletry products. Great sized room, larger than pictured. We had the most comfortable, wonderful stay.

Loved the location. Was perfect as we could go from gate to gate avoiding the steps as was 6months pregnant so was challenging in the heat. Clean and great helpful host. Easy to find and great communication with host.
What could be improved: Only downfall was the shower was hard to get correct temperature either boiling or freezing, but this did not bother us too much.
Beautifully renovated apartments in Dubrovnik, great location, very clean, and extremely comfortable. Luka was a wonderful host and great communication and recommendations for our stay.
What could be improved: Nothing not to like. Be sure to be able to tackle all the stairs in Dubrovnik!
The property was clean and furnished very well. The location was great and super convenient for exploring the old town without being noisy. Small thoughtful touches like extra towels in the cupboard, coffee pods in the Nespresso were appreciated.
What could be improved: Nothing. It honestly had everything.
The travel all went to plan, flights were on time, taxis were there and waiting. Property was easy to find and was a great location for exploring the old city of Dubrovnik. We walked for miles up and down the narrow alleyways, walked around the old walls, went in various churches and had some lovely meals in a couple of top class restaurants.
Beautiful room in the heart of Dubrovnik old town. The manager of the room was super helpful and flexible for earlier check in and gave us great tips for food and must watch in the town. Because there was no balcony you had nowhere to really chill other than the bed so that was the only disadvantage but the majority of the rooms are like that in the old town. We will definitely love to visit again and stay there. Definitely recommend it :)
The room was perfect as was the location, yes there are a lot of steps but that’s the case throughout the old town of Dubrovnik! Every attention to detail had been thought of in our room. The host could not have been more accommodating, it was a real find!!

The location was super central. Luka the host went above and beyond during our stay, always a call or WhatsApp message away. The room itself was exceptional, clean, fully stocked (even provided hair straighteners)! The bed and pillows were so comfy we struggled to get out of bed every morning - highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in old town.
