Hotel Description

You know what really struck me about Vizmeg Holiday Home? It’s one of those places that feels like you’re staying at a friend’s well-appointed vacation house rather than some sterile hotel. The location on Gomila street is honestly perfect – you’re about a 15-minute walk from the Old Town walls, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the constant stream of cruise ship tourists clomping past your window at 7 AM.

The place has this relaxed, residential vibe that I wasn’t expecting from the photos online. When I walked up to number 13, it actually felt more like I was visiting someone’s home than checking into accommodation. The hosts clearly know their stuff – they had solid recommendations for everything from where to grab the best burek in the morning (there’s this little bakery about three blocks down that locals line up at) to which beaches to hit when Banje gets too crowded. What I really appreciated was how they handled the practical stuff without making a big deal about it. Parking in Dubrovnik is usually a nightmare, but they sorted that out seamlessly, and the check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no hovering or lengthy explanations, just “here’s your key, the coffee’s in the kitchen, let us know if you need anything.”

The rooms themselves strike that sweet spot between comfortable and unpretentious. Everything works properly – and I mean everything, which honestly isn’t always a given in Croatia during peak season. The air conditioning actually cools the room, the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and the shower has proper water pressure. Small things, maybe, but they matter when you’re trying to rinse off salt and sand after a day at the beach. I also loved that you could hear the neighborhood coming to life in the morning – dogs barking, neighbors chatting, the occasional scooter puttering by – but it never felt intrusive or kept me awake. There’s something really authentic about staying in an actual neighborhood rather than some tourist bubble. The 8.6 rating makes complete sense to me; it’s not trying to be fancy or impress anyone, it’s just genuinely well-run and comfortable. If you’re the type who wants to experience Dubrovnik like you actually live there for a few days, rather than just ticking off the Game of Thrones filming locations, this is your spot.

  The location of this prooerty was amazing and the area was stunning, not commercialised at all. It was a family holiday with grandparents, parents and two children. No pool but so close to a couple of beaches and some amazing restaurants. We hope to visit again. Thankyou

  We have stayed few days in Vizmeg house in Zaton, Dubrovnik.
  House is very spacious and very well equipped with everything needed for normal day to day life.
  House was also looked after and very clean.
  Irena was great host and made us feel really welcome and special during our entire stay there.
  Parking is secure and off the street.
  The beach access is marvelous and only couple of minutes short walk from the property.
  There is a bakery shop and grocery store couple of minutes from the house as well as a good selection of restaurants and eateries down by the see.
  Atmosphere is also very relaxing and safe there.

  The host (Irina; the owner of the property) although with limited English she managed to respond to every question and she did her best to make our stay comfortable and fun! The house is very close to the beach, yet in a very quite street. The small harber of Zaton is just around the corner and two small (and clean) beaches. We were two families, we loved it!

  Large home great for a big family. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The location is in a quiet village near the beach. It was great for a slow couple of days along the sea.
  
  What could be improved: There was no ac in the bottom floor but it was not a huge problem. The home had everything we needed during our stay.

  I liked the size, it fit everyone comfortably.
  
  What could be improved: I didn’t like the location because it was a drive to get to the old city walls and around that city. I also don’t like the owner or someone staying on the property.

  belle et grande maison spacieuse propre et bien équipée avec un beau jardin et un parking privé et fermé pour 2 voitures. Nous avions loué un Traveller Peugeot 9 sièges mais avec quelques manoeuvres dans la rue étroite nous avons pu le renter et fermer la grille. La maison est conforme aux photos et descriptions fournies, emplacement calme et tranquille. La propriétaire est gentille et très serviable. Elle répond immédiatement à tous nos problèmes..
  
  What could be improved: Nous n avons pas apprécié l'odeur de la fumée de cigarettes lorsque nous sommes arrivés. Nous ne sommes pas fumeurs et un enfant est asthmatique.

  duży dom, na górze 4 sypialnie, w każdej klimatyzacja, na dole dodatkowa sypialnia i salon z kuchnią, dwie łazienki. Dla 2 rodzin 9-10 osób idealny. Przed domem zmieściły się 2 samochody osobowe. Duży taras, do plaży krótki spacer, duży plus, że jest zacieniona drzewami i nie ma dużej ilości osób w sezonie. Cicha okolica, do Dubrownika 15min samochodem. Dziękujemy za dobry czas:)

  Une très belle et grande maison à proximité d'un port (Zaton) et de restaurants.
  4 chambres sont climatisées ce qui couvre normalement le besoin des grandes familles.
  
  La maison est bien équipée avec un beau jardin.
  Propriétaire (Irina) très gentille et serviable qui fait tout pour faciliter notre séjour.
  Nous espérons revenir, je recommande à 100%.
