Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be straight with you – finding a decent place to stay inside Dubrovnik’s Old Town that doesn’t cost a fortune is like striking gold, and Welcome Apartment actually delivers on this front. The location on Ulica Ispod Minčete is honestly perfect if you know anything about the old city layout. You’re literally tucked between the main Stradun thoroughfare and the quieter residential streets where actual locals live, which means you get the best of both worlds. I mean, you can stumble back from dinner at Proto or Nautika without dealing with the crowds that swarm the main drag during cruise ship hours, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters.
The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than some sterile hotel room – which is exactly what you want when you’re spending a week exploring the Adriatic coast. The stone walls are thick (thank god, because you know how sound carries in these medieval buildings), and there’s this wonderful cool feeling even during those brutal July afternoons when the limestone streets are practically radiating heat. The owner clearly gets what travelers need – proper blackout curtains for afternoon naps, a kitchen that’s actually equipped for more than just making coffee, and honestly, the Wi-Fi is better than most fancy hotels I’ve stayed at. What really impressed me was the attention to small details… like, there are adapters already plugged in, extra blankets that don’t smell musty, and the shower pressure is surprisingly strong for an old building.
Here’s what you need to know about the practical stuff: parking is impossible in the Old Town (obviously), but the apartment is maybe a five-minute walk from the Pile Gate entrance where you can arrange pickup with your driver. The narrow streets mean you’ll be dragging your luggage over cobblestones, so pack accordingly. During summer, the alleyways can get pretty lively – not rowdy, just… alive with people coming and going – but honestly, that’s part of the charm. You’ll hear church bells from St. Blaise in the morning, maybe some late-night conversations drifting up from the street, but it’s never disruptive. The neighborhood feels safe walking around at night, which isn’t always a given in tourist-heavy areas. I actually loved being able to grab fresh bread from the little bakery on Prijeko Street before the tour groups arrived, or having that perfect golden hour stroll along the walls without fighting crowds. For a 3-star place, it punches way above its weight – that 9.4 rating isn’t just lucky reviews, it’s because the owner genuinely cares about creating a good experience rather than just extracting tourist dollars.

Great spot in a convenient location – Ariann from United States – 29 June 2025 (9/10)
The apartment was in a really convenient location, about a 5 minute walk from Buza Gate and about 10 minutes to the ferry station. Everything was clean and Ana had everything we might need like irons, washing machine and hair dryer. She was also very communicative during our stay.
Exceptional – Georgia from Australia – 25 June 2025 (10/10)

Great apartment with 2 bedrooms. Well equipped and situated in old town – Lesley from United Kingdom – 22 June 2025 (9/10)
It was very clean and nicely furnished. It had everything we needed.
What could be improved: It was quite high up in the old town with a lot ifs steps. Once we realised there was a different way to go though via the walls it was no problem.Very good – Vivienne from Australia – 23 May 2025 (8/10)
Location in old town, convenient to all the sights, activities, restaurants and public transport hub. Nice hosts.
What could be improved: The many stairs were difficult for suitcases and taxing to walk up. Not appropriate for elderly or unfit. It's just the design of the town.Loved it. – Michael from United Kingdom – 23 May 2025 (10/10)
Spacious, well kept with all the facilities you need in an apartment. The owners provided the basic provisions which were well received on arrival.

Great apartment within the city walls. Hosts were very helpful, allowing us to check in early. Apartment had all we needed for our short stay. Would recommend.
What could be improved: Dubrovnik is very hilly and our apartment was at the top of the hill so may be a problem for some people.Lovely stay in the old town – Amanda from United Kingdom – 4 April 2025 (10/10)
Good size and clean
What could be improved: Property is fine but steps are a challenge with a suitcaseExceptional – Elzowczyna from Bulgaria – 13 October 2024 (10/10)
The place had all the amenities you might want on a few days trip. Very comfy beds. Clean. Good communication with the owner.
What could be improved: Nothing really. Would be nice to have more coffee capsules. The stairs to the apartment are death 😀We loved the Dubrovnik experience & the apartment was a perfect base for us. – Vernon from New Zealand – 15 September 2024 (9/10)
