The space has this warm, lived-in quality without being cluttered, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses, so that matters).

What really works here is the location – you’re in Ploče, which means you’re close enough to the Old Town madness but far enough away that you can actually sleep at night. I mean, during peak summer months, staying right inside the city walls can be… well, let’s just say the revelry doesn’t stop at midnight. From ANDROMEDA, it’s maybe a 10-minute walk to Pile Gate, and you’ll pass some great local spots along the way – there’s this little bakery that does incredible burek if you’re up early enough. The apartment itself gets good natural light, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places in Dubrovnik feel like caves because of all the stone construction.

Honestly, what sealed it for me was the little details. The shower actually has decent water pressure (not a given in older Croatian buildings), and there’s proper counter space in the kitchen if you want to grab groceries from the Konzum nearby instead of eating out every meal. The Wi-Fi worked reliably – I had some work calls that went smoothly. One thing to note: parking can be tricky around here, like most of Dubrovnik, but the host gave solid directions to nearby spots. The building itself is quiet; I never heard neighbors, which is pretty remarkable. The whole setup just feels more authentic than those cookie-cutter hotel rooms, you know? You get a sense of how locals actually live, but with all the comfort you want as a traveler. If you’re planning to visit during shoulder season – April or October – this place would be perfect as a base for exploring without the summer crowds crushing your soul.
