You know what struck me first about Apartment Laura? The address might say Ploce, but you’re actually tucked into this quiet residential pocket that feels completely removed from the tourist chaos – yet you can still walk to the Old Town in about fifteen minutes. Cavtatska ulica is one of those streets where locals actually live, so you’ll hear morning coffee conversations drifting from balconies instead of cruise ship announcements.
Laura clearly knows what she’s doing here. The apartment itself has that perfect balance of being genuinely homey without feeling like you’re crashing in someone’s spare room. I mean, the kitchen actually has proper knives and more than two plates – sounds basic, but honestly, you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong. The Wi-Fi is solid (tested it on multiple video calls), and there’s decent air conditioning, which you’ll definitely appreciate if you’re visiting between June and August. The bathroom has one of those rainfall showerheads that actually works properly, plus there’s always hot water – I tested this at various weird hours because, well, that’s what you do when you travel a lot.
What really sets this place apart is the location knowledge you get. Laura left this incredibly detailed notebook with restaurant recommendations that aren’t just the obvious touristy spots. She pointed me toward this family-run konoba about ten minutes away where the locals eat – no English menu, but the grilled fish was incredible and cost half what you’d pay near Stradun. The apartment building itself is quiet (thick walls, thank goodness), and you’ve got a small balcony where you can actually sit with morning coffee without feeling like you’re on display. Parking can be tricky in this area – there’s street parking, but it fills up fast during high season, so maybe arrange something with Laura beforehand if you’re driving. The walk to the main sights is mostly downhill, which is great until you remember you have to walk back up, but it’s not terrible – just factor in an extra ten minutes if you’re carrying shopping bags. Oh, and the grocery store on the corner stays open until 10 PM, which saved me more than once when I needed breakfast supplies or forgot to grab water. That 9.5 rating isn’t just people being nice – this really is one of those places where someone’s clearly putting thought into the details that matter.

This wonderful apartment with a stunning roof-top terrance with sea view fulfilled all our expectations! The apartment is very well equipped and has a location that is hard to beat - just outside the city walls. Our host, Dominik, was very helpful and attentive to all questions when needed. We spent a wonderful week here and would highly recommend the property for others as well.

Fantastic location just outside Ploce gate, spacious terrace with a beautiful view. Apartment was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable and convenient stay. Highly recommend

We loved everything about this property!!!
We have travelled all over and this is the first property we have ever stayed in that not only had everything we could need but more than we ever expected. The amazing and helpful host met us on arrival and we were greeted with a drink and shown around the fab property. The beds are super comfy, the 2 bathrooms of a good size and the terrace is stunning with such beautiful views in a tranquil setting. The property was really clean and the facilities exceptional and you are a stones throw from the city walls and not far from the cable car from which to see an amazing sunset.
If coming to Dubrovnik this is a must stay property :)
What could be improved: Nothing but people with mobility issues do need to be aware of the stairs inside the property as some are very steep which is to be expected with any property of this age.
