You know what surprised me about Apartman Fani? It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street in Lapad, and honestly, I almost walked right past it the first time. The entrance is pretty understated – no flashy signage or anything – but that’s actually part of its charm. Once you’re inside, you realize this place gets everything right without making a big deal about it.
The apartment itself feels like staying at a Croatian friend’s place, if that friend happened to have really good taste and an obsession with cleanliness. I mean, seriously, the attention to detail here is impressive for a 3-star spot. The kitchen had everything I actually needed (not just the bare minimum), and the bathroom had this great shower with proper water pressure – you’d be amazed how many places in old European cities mess that up. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t think about it, which is honestly the highest praise I can give. What really sold me was the little balcony where I’d have my morning coffee – nothing fancy, but you can see a slice of the Adriatic between the buildings, and there’s something magical about those early morning glimpses of blue water.
Location-wise, Lapad is where you want to be if you’re not into the tourist circus of the Old Town but still want easy access to everything. The beach at Lapad Bay is maybe a 7-minute walk downhill (though coming back up with groceries… well, that’s another story). There’s this great little bakery on the corner of Masarykov put that locals actually use – I’d grab fresh burek there most mornings. The bus to Dubrovnik’s Old Town runs frequently from right near the apartment, and the ride takes about 15 minutes. Pro tip: get the day pass if you’re planning multiple trips, because individual tickets add up fast. Parking can be tricky during peak season, but Fani sorted that out for us without any drama. The neighborhood gets refreshingly quiet after 9 PM, which was perfect after long days exploring the city walls and dealing with cruise ship crowds. That 9.4 rating isn’t just numbers – this place genuinely delivers on the promise of being a comfortable, well-located base for exploring Dubrovnik without the tourist tax prices of staying inside the city walls.

A relatively economical base for exploring Dubrovnik. The location is great. Walking distance to a beach, shop next door, and a bus to the old town right outside. Comfy beds too, and a well equipped kitchen with welcome bits and bobs like chocolates, water, milk and juice. Secure car parking space.
What could be improved: The entrance is a bit grim, but the apartment itself is good!
Exceptional Great hosts and apartment, large and clean rooms and bathroom. Good internet, private parking space. Perfect communication with the owner. Right in front of the building there is a public transport stop to the center.

Comfortable apartment with great location Location was superb. 10 minutes away from cafes, bar and beach. Supermarket directly opposite and bus stop has direct short bus journey to the main Old Town. Apartment was very comfortable and well equipped. Wifi was good too.
What could be improved: Pictures to find the building would have made it easier to find. Also shower head holder was broken so we had to manually hold it to shower (owner might not be aware of this though).
It was brilliant. A tradition apartment with two bedrooms which had large very comfortable beds. It was right next to the bus stop into the Old Town and opposite a good supermarket.

Exceptional Location just a short bus ride from Old Town. Our hostess was informative, addressed all questions accurately and provided tips on getting around Dubrovnik, where to eat and best time to visit attractions.
