Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Dubrovnik over the years, and Apartment Anavi is honestly one of those finds that makes you want to keep it secret. It’s tucked away on Ulica doktor Vladka Mačeka in Lapad – which, let’s be real, sounds intimidating if you don’t speak Croatian, but locals just call it the quiet part of town where actual people live. The thing is, you’re still only about a 15-minute walk to the old town walls, but you get to escape all that tourist chaos at the end of the day. I mean, staying inside Dubrovnik’s old city is romantic and all, but good luck getting any sleep with those late-night pub crawls echoing off medieval stones.

What really got me about this place was how thoughtfully put together everything felt. The owners – and I’m pretty sure they actually live nearby because they knew exactly which bakery opens earliest and where to catch the best sunset – have this knack for anticipating what you’ll need. The apartment itself has that perfect balance of Croatian character without feeling like a museum. You know what I mean? Like, there’s local artwork and nice touches, but you can actually use everything without worrying you’ll break some priceless family heirloom. The kitchen is properly equipped too, which matters if you hit the morning market in Gruž (about 10 minutes away) and want to cook some of those incredible Croatian tomatoes. Plus, the Wi-Fi actually works – I spent a couple of mornings on the terrace with coffee, handling emails while watching the neighborhood wake up.

The Lapad area itself is sort of perfectly positioned. You’ve got the peninsula’s beaches if you want to swim without fighting for space, and the bus connections are honestly better than staying in the old town. During summer, this neighborhood stays surprisingly cool in the evenings – something about the way the breeze comes off the water. I noticed families from Zagreb and Split vacation here, which tells you something about the vibe. It’s not trying to be the flashiest place in Dubrovnik, but that 9.9 rating isn’t an accident. The owners respond to messages quickly, check-in was smooth (they even waited when my flight was delayed), and they left these little local recommendations that actually weren’t tourist traps. Honestly, if you’re the type who wants to experience Dubrovnik without feeling like you’re living in a theme park, this is your spot.

  Excellent apartment, super clean and with full, top-quality amenities. Nevermind AC, dishwasher and clothes washing machine, which are of course included – this place has a wine cooler!
  
  Great location, quiet street, view towards a large park, 15 mins from the beach, 5 from the marina. Price is decent when divided by 3 persons.
  
  Accommodating host, allowed very early checkin and late checkout. Complementary food and drinks.

  Quite location, very well decorated modern apartment with well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. The host was gracious and had left breakfast groceries.
  
  What could be improved: We were 2 couples and had booked it as the property is listed as having 2 bathrooms. It has only one bathroom with shower and one cloak room (toilet) with a washing machine. The host was made aware of this upon arrival. We chose not to look for alternate accommodation as had been travelling and Dubrovnik was our last stop. This did cause us inconvenience.

  Sve mi se svidjelo. Apartman čist, uredan, prostran, i čim se uđe fini neki miris. Paze na svaki detalj. Za dobrodošlicu pun frižider sitnica za doručak i svega, svaka čast na tome. Kuhinja odlično opremljena. Parking odličan, lokacija top. Uglavnom sve je na nivou i jedva se čekamo opet vratiti👍

  Denne leiligheten er virkelig en perle med sitt innbydende og stilfulle interiør! Vertinnen har virkelig gjort en ekstra innsats for å sikre at gjestene føler seg velkomne og komfortable, og hennes vennlighet og grundige forklaringer legger virkelig til det ekstra personlige preg. Alt i alt er dette ikke bare en leilighet, men et ekte hjem borte fra hjemmet, hvor omsorg og oppmerksomhet for detaljer skinner gjennom i hvert rom. En virkelig herlig opplevelse! 🏡✨🌺

Appartamento nuovissimo e centralissimo l oste sempre super disponibile appena arrivati ci ha accompagnato a fittare i mezzi con la pripria auto e ci ha inoltre consentito di fare il check-out nel tardo pomeriggio e durante il soggiorno sempre tempestivo nel rispondere a tutte le nostre domande e a darci aiuto o consigli

  Fantastisk flott leilighet med veldig høy standard! Vi ankom tidlig og det var ingen problem med tidlig innsjekking. Ved ankomst ventet det 2 flasker vin og mat i kjøleskapet. Under oppholdet kom også verten med fersk grillmat på døren. Leiligheten ligger nært supermarked, gode resturanter og strender. Verten svarte raskt på melding og stilte opp og fikset alt som ble etterspurt under oppholdet. Jeg vil virkelig anbefale denne leiligheten ved en reise til Dubrovnik 🙂
