You know what surprised me about Apartment Anja? It’s one of those places that makes you feel like you’ve got a secret. I mean, yeah, it’s technically just a 3-star spot, but honestly – that 9.7 rating isn’t some fluke. The moment I walked in, I could tell this was run by someone who actually cares about the details that matter.
The location is pretty brilliant, actually. You’re far enough from the Old Town chaos that you can sleep without earplugs (trust me, that’s huge during summer), but close enough that you’re not doing some epic hike every time you want to grab dinner. I’d walk down toward Lapad Bay in the mornings – there’s this little bakery about three minutes away where the locals go, and you know a place is good when you’re the only tourist in line. The apartment itself has this lived-in comfort that you don’t get at those sterile hotel chains. Anja (yeah, she’s a real person, not just a name) has thought about the stuff you’d never consider until you need it – like proper hangers, a coffee setup that doesn’t require an engineering degree, and honestly, the best shower pressure I’ve had in Croatia. The balcony overlooks this quiet residential area, and in the evenings you can hear families having dinner, kids playing – it’s sort of perfect if you want to feel like you’re living somewhere instead of just passing through.
What really got me was how Anja handles the whole experience. She met me at check-in with this hand-drawn map (I still have it) showing not just the touristy spots but where to get the best burek, which bus routes actually run on time, and – this was clutch – where to park without getting a ticket. During the shoulder season when I was there, she mentioned the morning fish market near Gruž port, which honestly became my favorite part of the whole trip. The apartment stays cool naturally (those old stone buildings know what they’re doing), so you’re not battling an ancient AC unit all night. There’s something refreshingly honest about the whole setup – it’s not trying to be fancy, just comfortable and thoughtful. I mean, you’re not getting a concierge or room service, but you are getting someone who knows the city and wants you to love it as much as she does. That’s worth way more than thread count or marble bathrooms, at least to me.

Fantastisch uitzicht over de oude stad vanaf je eigen prive balkon! Fantastisch verblijf gehad! Ontzettend mooie locatie met eigen balkon met uitzicht over de oude stad. En dan heb ik het nog niet gehad over de gastheer en gastvrouw; zo lief en behulpzaam. Echt een unieke plek. In het echt nog leuker dan op de foto's! Als je twijfelt; ik zou zeggen zeker boeken! Het gaat je niet tegen vallen!

A Perfect Stay Everything about the apartment was perfect. Fantastic view from the balcony. It's a climb from the old town but every penny worth the climb. The facilities were all good. But most of all, the impeccable hospitality and kindness of the hosts. We were welcomed with a bottle of house wine, applestrudels, and a bottle of homemade marmalade. We felt a sense of home, and the feeling of being with friendly hosts. Thank you!

A place to remember and to come back for sure! All about it was perfect! We had a nice and warm reception even with a cake made at home for us! A remarkable surprise! Excellent location and a wonderful view from the balcony!

Perfect! The apartment was perfect - beautiful view from the balcony and only a few minutes walk from the old town. The parking space was super helpful as we had a rental car and spent a few days travelling the coast. We were greeted by a lovely couple who own the property and told us all about Dubrovnik. They even made us a cake and some homemade marmalade on arrival. 10/10!

Great stay perfect location, nice people, no problems. Our flight was late, so they prepared some food and drinks for us without asking for it. we can strongly recommend.
What could be improved: The apartment is under roof, so if you are taller you have to keep it in mind. But nothing important.
Ottima posizione e bella vista in DUBROVNIK Posizione molto comoda vicinissima al centro di dubrovnik . In Appena cinque minuti facendo circa centocinquanta scalini si raggiunge il ,centro storico..
Comodissimo il parcheggio privato proprio di fronte alla struttura in quanto nella città è praticamente impossibile trovare parcheggi a meno di dieci euro all ora..
Proprietari gentilissimi Ci hanno accolto come se fossimo amici da una viti Spiegato tutte le funzionalità della struttura (aria condizionata , scaldabagno ecc).
I proprietari al nostro arrivo Ci hanno fatto trovare una torta fatta in casa e una bottiglia di vino locale ottimi :)
Bellissima vista sul mare e sulla città vecchia dal balcone .

Traumhafter Ausblick über die Dächer der Altstadt von Dubrovnik aufs Meer Direkt an der Hauptstraße gelegen, keine engen Nebengassen und vor dem Haus ist ein überdachter, kostenfreier Parkplatz. Wir wurden von einem sehr freundlichen, deutsch sprechenden Vermieterehepaar mit einem selbst gebackenen Kuchen und einer Flasche Wein ganz herzlich empfangen. Das Appartment war klimatisiert, sehr sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Aussicht vom Balkon ist ein Traum! Über den Dächern der Altstadt hat man einen atemberaubenden Ausblick aufs Meer. Über eine Stiege kommt man direkt zum Eingang durch die Stadtmauer in die Altstadt. Alles in allem ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen!
