You know what surprised me most about Apartment Antej? It’s tucked away on this narrow little street called Ulica Svetog Križa – and I mean narrow, like you’re wondering if a car can even fit through there – but somehow it feels completely peaceful despite being just a few minutes’ walk from all the Old Town chaos. The building itself has that weathered stone look that’s everywhere in Dubrovnik, but inside it’s been done up really nicely without trying too hard to be fancy.

The apartment I stayed in was honestly bigger than I expected for the price point. Croatian apartments can be hit or miss, but this one actually had proper air conditioning (crucial if you’re visiting in summer, trust me), and the kitchen was functional enough that I could make coffee in the morning without having to hunt down a café right away. The owner, Antej I’m assuming, seems to get that travelers need practical stuff – there were extra towels, the Wi-Fi actually worked throughout the space, and he’d left some basic info about the area that was way more helpful than the generic tourist brochures you usually get. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, and I appreciated that everything felt clean and recently updated.

What really sold me on this place was the location, though. You’re close enough to Stradun that you can pop over for dinner or drinks without planning your whole evening around it, but far enough that you’re not dealing with cruise ship crowds stumbling past your window at all hours. There’s this little bakery about two blocks away that locals actually go to – not one of those tourist traps – and you can grab fresh pastries for breakfast. Parking’s always a nightmare in Dubrovnik, but if you’re driving, there are some spots nearby that aren’t completely impossible to navigate. The 8.2 rating makes sense to me; it’s not trying to be a luxury hotel, but it delivers on what it promises. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was planning to spend a few days exploring the city properly rather than just doing the quick tourist circuit.

  We stayed for a week and overall enjoyed our time here.
  The bed was comfortable. Wi-Fi was good.
  The kitchen is equipped, so you have a possibility to cook simple meals.
  There are a washing machine and a hairdryer in the bathroom.
  Living room and bathroom both have an AC.
  Also this apartment has a small terrace with chairs.
  If you have a car there is a reserved parking spot in front of the building.
  Our host Ana was always in touch via WhatsApp.
  
  You can get to Bellevue beach in 30 minutes and Lapad beach in 35 minutes by foot.
  
  Old City center is in 40-minutes walk or less than 10 minutes by taxi (7-8 EUR Uber).
  
  You can get to the Dubrovnik Bus station and to the Port approximately in 10 minutes by foot.
  
  The apartment is on the hill and you have to go up the stairs to get there. We were okay with that but just in case you have a health issues you should have that in mind.
  
  What could be improved: You should definitely be careful not to leave ANY food on kitchen counters as you will face ant invasion.

  We stayed here for three nights and we liked it a lot! Amartmed had everything, from towels, to shower gel, shampoo, SPF lotions, and even the period pads. Free and always available parking is what convinced us to proceed with booking this apartment. Everything was very clean and neat. Ana the host was very kind and helped us for whatever we needed, and was always available on WhatsApp. She even sent us by post our forgotten items. Overall – a lovely stay!

  i booked without any notice basically. The host cleaned everything very well, had the aircon on for me as I arrived so I was comfortable & offered so much support. I felt very safe & comfortable in the apartment.

  The apartment isn’t very far from the city center by taxi.
  
  What could be improved: Our stay was overall terrible:
  – There were ants all over the kitchen: when contacting the owner about this unsanitary situation, their response was: “don’t leave your food on the counter”. That’s all. No offer to reimburse an ant killer powder or anything.
  – We mistakenly parked our car in the wrong parking spot. Next thing we know, the neighbors had parked their car behind ours, shouting at us saying they had called the police, but that the problem could go away if we were willing to pay them ~€20 (basically extortion). We obviously refused, and decided to move our car to another location fearing the neighbors could damage our vehicle overnight as “revenge”. When we called the owner about this situation, their answer was along the lines of “don’t worry about the neighbors”. Just as simple as that. No offer to send someone to assist. I also contacted Booking.com to explain the surreal situation we had just been through.
  – Despite the above, we decided to pay for our stay in full, just so we no longer had to deal with the owner’s nonsensical ways had we refused payment. I was in fact certain of a strong commercial gesture from Booking.com following our experience.
  – Booking.com assistance was probably even poorer than the owner’s. They offered us a mere €25 credit for the inconvenience we had faced. Apparently client trust and safety is not a priority there. Will have better luck with Airbnb’s customer service.

  Appartement en rez-de-chaussée avec place de parking privatif extérieur. L'hôtesse est sympathique. A 10 minutes du bus pour old town. .

  L'appartement est bien situé avec un bus au bas de la rue qui vois amène a la vieille ville en 10mn. Il est spacieux avec un parking privé.
  
  What could be improved: Il manque quelques accessoires de base en cuisine et la literie laisse un peu a désiré. Mais pas de quoi gâcher votre sejour.

  Appartamento molto ampio e dotato di ogni confort. Host gentile e disponibile. A due passi dal porto di Dubrovnik. Servita dai mezzi e nei pressi anche un supermercato.
