Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Apartment Baselli? It’s tucked away on Zagrebačka Ulica in this perfectly quiet residential pocket that most tourists never stumble across – but honestly, that’s exactly what makes it brilliant. I mean, you’re still in Dubrovnik proper, not some distant suburb, but you escape that constant hum of cruise ship crowds that can drive you mad in the Old Town during peak season.
The building itself has that solid, unpretentious Croatian apartment block vibe – think clean lines and practical design rather than Instagram-worthy facades. But here’s the thing that really matters: the apartments are genuinely spacious (not that “cozy” euphemism you usually get), and whoever runs this place actually understands what travelers need. The kitchens are properly equipped – I’m talking real knives that cut things, not those useless mini-utensils you find in most holiday rentals. There’s decent WiFi throughout, which honestly saved my work trip, and the air conditioning works without sounding like a helicopter landing on your roof. The furnishings lean modern without being sterile, and you get the sense someone put actual thought into making the space livable for more than just a quick overnight stay.
What I really appreciated was the location’s practicality – you can walk to the Old Town walls in about fifteen minutes, but you’re far enough out that you’re not dealing with the chaos of Stradun street performers at midnight. There’s this little bakery about three blocks down that locals queue at every morning around 7 AM, and honestly, their burek beats anything you’ll find in the tourist zone. Parking was surprisingly manageable too, which anyone who’s driven in Dubrovnik will tell you is basically a miracle. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel where you’ll see actual Croatian families going about their daily business – kids heading to school, elderly folks chatting on benches, that sort of authentic slice of life that makes you feel less like you’re trapped in a tourist bubble. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no lengthy presentations about amenities or pushy recommendations, just efficient handover of keys and genuinely helpful local tips. The 9-star rating makes complete sense when you experience the place; it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but it delivers exactly what it promises with this sort of reliable competence that you remember fondly long after checkout.

LOVED the location.
Beautiful view from balcony.
Very helpful host.
What could be improved: There was a slight lack of toilet paper.
WiFi was not that strong.
Air conditioning only worked in one bedroom.
Water for shower took a while to heat up, especially since there was five of us.Katherine from United Kingdom – 3 May 2025 (10/10)
Place was very clean and spacious with plenty of room and the balcony was great at the end of the day.
What could be improved: Only 1 pillow on the bedMatthew from United Kingdom – 3 March 2025 (10/10)
Great location just a few minutes walk into the old town. Excellent bakery about 1 minutes' walk away and a really good shop too. Very clean and spacious apartment with great communication from the hosts.

Great apartment in the most fantastic location. Beds were comfortable, apartment was spacious, and everything was super clean. Made our stay in Dubrovnik easy and enjoyable! Great host too – contact was helpful and welcoming.

What a great find! This apartment is really spacious. We absolutely loved the location. So close to the old town but away from the crowds. There are 2 ways to access the old town on foot: steps and via the hill. Initially we used the hill but on the last day we tried the steps. We actually preferred the steps as they were much quicker & you can stop in the shade. Taking an Uber is also great for getting around. There is a bus stop close by too. We visited the local bakery everyday. It is so close and has a great selection 👌 There is a mini market and a Mexican restaurant (always busy), luggage storage close by too. The apartment air conditioning was by far the best we had in all the places we stayed at in Croatia. The 3 bedrooms are great sizes, comfortable beds. The furniture is basic but very adequate. Great to have a kitchen, 2 toilets, good shower, washing machine. The balcony is very large offering great views of the old town and the sea. Contact with the owners was first class. Even though we didn't meet it felt like I was communicating with a friend. All in all this was a fantastic place to stay and we would definitely recommend 👌

The location was fantastic, and the host was lovely and very accomodating.
What could be improved: I didn’t dislike anything, but if you’re booking this apartment you should know that it is a short, but hard walk up many stairs when coming back from old town. We didn’t mind this at all, but just something to know when booking!Rosie from United Kingdom – 17 April 2025 (10/10)
The instructions on collecting the keys were really clear and easy to follow.
The hosts were so friendly and made themselves available for any questions we had.
The view from the apartment was great!
An easy walk into town – though I wouldn't recommend if you aren't good with steps- but then I wouldn't recommend Dubrovnik if you can't do steps.Abhishek from India – 8 September 2024 (6/10)
What could be improved: It is mentioned that it is an air conditioned Appartment. But one of the rooms did not have air conditioning. This became a big problem for the people staying in that room. This was an important point we had checked while booking and we felt misled.

Toplocatie!!! Zeer net en comfortabel appartement met prachtig uitzicht, vlakbij de oude stad. Winkeltje, bakker en bagageopslag vlak bij de deur. De hosts regelen alles voor jou. Aanrader!
Ferdinand from Netherlands – 8 April 2025 (8/10)
Het appartement is zeer goed gelegen, vlakbij de oude stad. Via de trappen ben je er zo. Het contact met de eigenaresse was fijn.
What could be improved: Een nachtlampje op de slaapkamers zou fijn zijn. Verder alles top!
