You know what? I’ve walked past MrGolinski on Zvijezdićeva probably a dozen times before I actually stayed there, and honestly, I was kicking myself for not booking it sooner. The thing about this little street – it’s tucked just enough off the main Stradun that you dodge most of the cruise ship crowds, but you’re still basically in the heart of Old Town. Like, literally two minutes to Rector’s Palace, maybe three to the cathedral if you’re walking slow and stopping for photos.
The hotel itself has this quietly confident vibe that I really appreciated. No flashy lobby trying to impress you with marble everything – just solid, thoughtful touches that make sense. The rooms are what you’d expect from a proper 4-star place, but it’s the details that got me. Bathroom actually has decent water pressure (not always a given in these old stone buildings), and the AC works without sounding like a jet engine. I mean, you’re still in a medieval city, so don’t expect huge spaces, but everything feels intentional rather than cramped. The staff genuinely knows their stuff too – when I asked about avoiding the crowds at the city walls, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a brochure, he actually mapped out the best times and which entrance to use.
What really sold me on the place was how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re close enough to hear the bells from the cathedral (which is actually pretty lovely in the morning), but far enough from Prijeko Street that you won’t be dealing with restaurant noise until 2 AM. And here’s something I didn’t expect – parking is actually manageable. Well, as manageable as parking gets in Dubrovnik, which isn’t saying much, but they work with a garage that’s maybe a 5-minute walk. The whole area gets this nice quiet spell around 7 PM when the day-trippers head back to their ships, and that’s when you really appreciate being right there in the thick of things. You can just wander out for dinner without the whole production of getting back into the Old Town. With a 9.6 rating, you sort of expect it to be one of those places that’s trying too hard, but MrGolinski feels more like staying with someone who just happens to have really good taste and knows exactly what travelers actually need.

Clean and in the centre of Old Town.
What could be improved: How many steps you have to get to the property. With heavy luggage it was hard work. There was actually an easier way to get up with half the amount of steps and just had to walk an extra minute or so. W

Authentic house in old Dubrovnik. It had character and only a short stroll from the centre. Brilliant shower and second toilet was a plus.

Lovingly restored and decorated. Great decor touches and high end appliances. Host was incredibly attentive and helpful. Decanter of local liqueur was such a nice touch.

Comfortable place to stay with a family . Easy access to the old town. The amenities and the tidiness is great .

The property was in an excellent location. So close to the Buza Bar where we swam everday. It’s in a very pretty alley where people constantly took photos. The apartment was spacious.
