I actually preferred taking the bus over dealing with the nightmare parking situation in Dubrovnik’s center. Plus, there’s this little bakery called Dubrovačka Pekarnica about five minutes down the street where you can grab fresh burek for breakfast – locals line up there every morning, and now I understand why. The apartment stays pretty quiet even during peak summer season because you’re just far enough from the main tourist drag, but close enough that you can walk to restaurants and cafes along the Lapad promenade when you want some evening energy.
The place itself feels more like staying at a friend’s apartment than a rental – there’s personality in the decor without being cluttered, and everything actually works (the WiFi, the air conditioning, the kitchen appliances). I appreciated that they didn’t try to cram too much furniture into the space, so you can actually move around comfortably. The balcony isn’t huge, but it’s perfect for morning coffee and people-watching. Honestly, after dealing with some pretty mediocre accommodations in other parts of Croatia, this felt like such a relief. The 9.6 rating makes total sense – it’s the kind of place where you can tell the owner actually cares about giving people a good experience, not just collecting booking fees. If you want to experience Dubrovnik like someone who lives there rather than just checking sights off a list, this is your spot.
