Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Apartment Hedera A13 on Frana Supila street, I wasn’t expecting much. It’s tucked away in this quieter part of Ploče, which honestly turned out to be one of my favorite things about the place. You’re far enough from the tourist madness of Stradun that you can actually hear yourself think, but close enough that you can walk to the old town walls in maybe ten minutes (fifteen if you’re like me and stop for coffee at every corner café).

The apartment itself is actually pretty impressive for what you’re paying. I mean, it’s got that clean, modern feel without being sterile – you know what I mean? The kitchen was way better equipped than I expected, which came in handy because eating out in Dubrovnik every night will absolutely destroy your budget. The host was super responsive too, which I appreciated since I’m one of those anxious travelers who needs constant reassurance. The Wi-Fi was solid (I worked from there a few mornings), and honestly, the air conditioning was a lifesaver during those sweltering August afternoons. The only minor thing – and this is really nitpicking – is that the street can get a bit echoey at night when people are walking back from dinner, but nothing a pair of earplugs can’t handle.

What really sold me on this place was the location specifics that you don’t realize until you’re there. You’ve got Banje Beach literally a five-minute walk away, which is perfect for those early morning swims before the crowds descend. And here’s a local tip I picked up – there’s this little konoba called Dubrovnik just around the corner that serves the best black risotto I’ve ever had, and the locals actually eat there (always a good sign). The bus stop for the airport shuttle is practically outside your door, which saved me from those ridiculously expensive taxi rides. Plus, if you’re planning to explore the islands, the port is super walkable from here. I actually preferred staying in this part of town over the old city itself – you get the authentic residential vibe without sacrificing convenience. The 8.8 rating makes total sense to me; it’s not luxury, but it’s exactly what you want when you’re exploring a city like Dubrovnik and need a comfortable, well-located base that won’t break the bank.
