Right in the heart of everything in old city. Access was excellent to restaurants and attractions. A comfortable apartment with most things available . Well set up for mobile people.
What could be improved: TV not accessible to watch.
Noisy in early hours morning and then also rubbish and cleaning started @ 5am in streets.

First Impressions
Walking up to Apartment Ivo on Vetranićeva ulica, you immediately get that “I’m actually staying inside the old city walls” feeling that makes Dubrovnik so special. This four-star property sits right in the heart of Old Town — and I mean literally in the heart, not just “close to” like so many places claim. The building itself has that weathered stone look that tells you it’s been here for centuries, but honestly, that’s exactly what you want when you’re staying inside these ancient walls. The authentic character of the structure perfectly complements the surrounding medieval architecture.
The Location Magic
Here’s what I love about this spot — you can roll out of bed and be at Stradun (the main pedestrian street) in about two minutes. The apartment is tucked away just enough that you’re not dealing with the constant flow of cruise ship tourists, but close enough that everything is walkable. You know what’s really nice? Couples seem to absolutely love it here, and after staying there, I get why they rate the location so highly for romantic trips. The proximity to major attractions makes it an ideal base for exploring.
The Space Itself
The room has this perfect blend of old-world charm and modern comfort that’s honestly hard to find in Dubrovnik’s Old Town. Stone walls keep things cool during those hot summer days — which is a godsend when you’re exploring the city walls under the Mediterranean sun. The space feels authentically Croatian without being overly touristy, if that makes sense. There’s enough character in the details that you feel like you’re staying somewhere with real history, not just a generic hotel room. Every corner reflects the rich cultural heritage of the region.
Daily Life Here
What I really appreciated was how easy it made exploring the city. You’re close enough to everything that you can pop back during the day to rest (trust me, you’ll want to after climbing those city walls), then head out again for dinner without any hassle. The narrow streets around the property have this lovely quiet feeling in the early morning and late evening when the day-trippers have cleared out. Some of my favorite moments were just wandering these little side streets near the apartment when the light hits the stone just right.
Why Guests Love It
The location score of 9.4 isn’t just a number — it really captures something special about this place. You’re staying where locals actually live and work, not in some tourist bubble outside the walls. You can hear the morning sounds of the city waking up, see shopkeepers opening their doors, and feel like you’re part of Dubrovnik rather than just visiting it. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about having your own little corner of this UNESCO World Heritage site to come home to each night. This apartment offers an authentic experience that few accommodations in the Old Town can match.
Early hotels booking in Dubrovnik secures private wall tours, island-hopping charters, and chef’s table dinners in hidden konobas.

What Our Guests Say
Great location very comfortable.
What could be improved: I was aware of the noise from reviews and brought earplugs. I would suggest providing some for future guests . I would also suggest a light switch on the top floor for the stair lights (unless I missed it)
Perfect location in the old town. Close to lots of bars and restaurants and metres from the main square. Lovely touches leaving us some port to try too
What could be improved: A little bit noisy at night with people walking upstairs but really didn’t affect our stay
Apartment Ivo, located within the walls of the old town is in a perfect location to access all of the sites. Although Old Town can be a little confusing, with potentially many many steps, our host Jadranka, had precise instructions to reach the property (from the Pile Gate to the property - a walk along the Stradun, a left turn on an adjoining street, and then a short walk with only 2 steps). Apartment Ivo came nicely equipped with everything we needed for our 5 night stay (separate bedroom, full kitchen, living room, & bath). The bed was comfortable, the kitchen had all of the basics with a dining table for four, the living room (for relaxing after a day seeing the sites in the neighborhood), and the bath had plenty of hot water. And, although it's located very close to the Stradun, it was quiet at night for a peaceful night's sleep.
What could be improved: We would have liked a rack or tray in the shower to hold soap, shampoo, etc. (we had to put the items on the floor). Also, the water in the bath shower and sink can get extremely hot, so one needs to be careful when adjusting the temperature.
The apartment was very clean and functional with all amenities.
What could be improved: Nothing, just that it’s on the second floor and may not be advisable for older people.
Large apartment and excellent position.
Very clean and comfortable.
The host was very helpful.
What could be improved: The stairs with large luggage is hard work.
The pub downstairs is noisy until 2-3 am. Then continues with kegs and new stock being carted in.
I would have rated 10 but for the noise.
Highly recommend this unit but for younger couples
Being inside the old town was very convenient. The unit layout was very good, and the extra touches like the lollies and welcome drink were good.
What could be improved: The location was above a hotel which partied on to the early hours of the morning. Kept waking us up. There wasn't any hot water in the kitchen sink. There wasn't a toaster, just a sandwich press. There was only one power point in the kitchen. The towel rack heating didn't work either. Be aware that there are no lifts in the Old Town and the two flights of stairs was a bit daunting with our luggage.
Great location and very spacious exactly as pictured.
What could be improved: N/A
Spacious, clean, comfortable, just as pictured in the photos. Very comfortable bed, good windows, great location. If you book this, use the Ploče or Pile Gates, do NOT use Buza Gate!
What could be improved: It would have been extra nice if it had a washing machine, but it was very thoughtful that at least there was a wash bin, clothes line and clips for us use.
Ideal location. Spacious and beautiful.
What could be improved: Shame that there was no washing machine.
