The address actually means something here – Ulica Marojice Kaboge 6 puts you right in the thick of Old Town, but on one of those quieter side streets where you’re not constantly dodging cruise ship groups. I mean, you’re still walking distance from everything that matters, but you can actually hear yourself think when you step outside.
The apartment itself feels like someone’s well-loved home rather than a sterile hotel room, which honestly makes all the difference when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two. The stone walls have that authentic Dubrovnik thickness that keeps things cool even when it’s blazing hot outside – and trust me, it gets properly hot in summer. What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to blend the old architecture with modern touches without making it feel forced. The bathroom actually has decent water pressure (not always a given in these medieval buildings), and the kitchen setup is genuinely functional if you want to grab some fresh stuff from the morning market near Pile Gate.
Location-wise, this is where local knowledge really pays off. You’re about a three-minute walk from Stradun, but more importantly, you’re close enough to those little konobas tucked into the side streets that most tourists never find. There’s this tiny place called Aziz that does incredible seafood risotto – it’s literally around the corner, and the owner Marko will remember your order after the second visit. The only thing to keep in mind is that Old Town gets pretty quiet after the day-trippers leave around 6 PM, which is either perfect or slightly eerie depending on what you’re after. Oh, and if you’re arriving by car, just know that you’ll be doing some walking with your luggage – but that’s true for anywhere decent in the old city. The whole area is pedestrian-only, which is actually part of its charm once you’re settled in. I’d definitely recommend this place, especially if you want to feel like you’re living in Dubrovnik rather than just passing through it.
