Here’s the thing about staying right in Old Town: you’re trading some modern conveniences for location, and honestly, it’s usually worth it. From Lucic, you can slip out for an early morning coffee at one of the cafés before the cruise ship crowds arrive, or grab a late dinner without worrying about the last bus back to your hotel outside the walls. The stone streets can get a bit noisy during peak summer months – I mean, it’s a UNESCO World Heritage site, not a monastery – but it quiets down nicely after the day-trippers head back to their ships. One small heads-up: like most Old Town accommodations, don’t expect to park right at the door. You’ll need to use one of the lots outside the walls and walk in, but the owners are pretty good about giving you the lowdown on which parking spots are closest and won’t cost you a fortune. The 7 rating feels about right – it’s not going to wow you with luxury amenities, but it delivers exactly what it promises: a comfortable base in an absolutely unbeatable location where you can actually live like a local for a few days instead of feeling like you’re just passing through.
