You know what struck me first about Apartment Lucic? The building itself feels like it’s been watching over Dubrovnik’s Old Town for centuries – which, honestly, it probably has. Walking up to Ulica Miha Pracata 7, you’re literally steps away from the main drag, but far enough that you won’t hear every tour group shuffling past your window at 7 AM. The apartment sits on the first floor (that’s what Americans would call the second floor), and I actually appreciated not having to haul my luggage up four flights of medieval stairs like some places make you do.

The space itself is pretty straightforward – clean, functional, with that slightly worn charm you’d expect from a 3-star spot in the heart of one of Europe’s most popular destinations. What I really liked was how the owners clearly understand what travelers actually need. The Wi-Fi worked without me having to reset it every twenty minutes, the shower had decent water pressure (miracle in Old Town, trust me), and there’s enough room to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. The kitchen setup is basic but totally adequate if you want to grab some fresh bread and local cheese from the morning market – which, by the way, is maybe a three-minute walk if you know the shortcut through the small square.

Here’s the thing about staying right in Old Town: you’re trading some modern conveniences for location, and honestly, it’s usually worth it. From Lucic, you can slip out for an early morning coffee at one of the cafés before the cruise ship crowds arrive, or grab a late dinner without worrying about the last bus back to your hotel outside the walls. The stone streets can get a bit noisy during peak summer months – I mean, it’s a UNESCO World Heritage site, not a monastery – but it quiets down nicely after the day-trippers head back to their ships. One small heads-up: like most Old Town accommodations, don’t expect to park right at the door. You’ll need to use one of the lots outside the walls and walk in, but the owners are pretty good about giving you the lowdown on which parking spots are closest and won’t cost you a fortune. The 7 rating feels about right – it’s not going to wow you with luxury amenities, but it delivers exactly what it promises: a comfortable base in an absolutely unbeatable location where you can actually live like a local for a few days instead of feeling like you’re just passing through.
