When I first pulled up to Apartment Navis, I’ll be honest — I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. It’s tucked away on Biokovska ulica, which is actually perfect because you’re close enough to everything but far from the tourist chaos. The building itself has that understated Croatian charm, and honestly, the fact that there’s parking right on site was already a win in my book. Anyone who’s tried to navigate Dubrovnik’s old streets with a rental car knows what I mean.
Here’s what I love about this spot in Dubrovnik — you’re about a 15-minute walk to the old town walls, but you can actually sleep at night without hearing drunk tourists stumbling around. The neighborhood feels residential, which means you get to see how locals actually live. There’s a small grocery store just around the corner, and I noticed couples seem to really appreciate the area (makes sense, given how peaceful it is). You know what’s great? You can walk to Lapad Bay in about 10 minutes if you want a proper beach day.
The apartment surprised me — it’s much more spacious than the photos suggest. The kitchen is actually functional, not just for show, which is rare in vacation rentals. I mean, you’ve got a proper stovetop, full-size fridge, and enough counter space to prep a real meal. The room setup works well whether you’re a couple or traveling with friends. Everything feels clean and well-maintained, though don’t expect fancy finishes — it’s more about comfort than flash.
The Wi-Fi works (seriously, this isn’t a given everywhere in Croatia), the air conditioning keeps up with summer heat, and the shower has decent water pressure. These might sound like basic things, but you’d be surprised how many places get them wrong. The hosts are responsive without being intrusive — they’ll help if you need something but won’t hover around. I also appreciated having a washing machine, especially after a few days of hiking around the city walls in July heat.
Look, this isn’t a fancy hotel with a concierge and room service, but that’s exactly why it works. You get the independence of having your own space, the convenience of that parking spot (which saves you about 20 euros a day), and you’re still close enough to walk everywhere that matters. The value is honestly hard to beat — I’ve stayed in much more expensive places in Dubrovnik that offered way less. If you want to experience the city without paying tourist prices for every little thing, this is your spot.
