The hosts clearly put thought into this place, and that 8.9 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there.

The swimming pool is the real game-changer here, especially if you’re visiting during those sweltering July and August months when even the locals are complaining about the heat. I mean, after spending hours wandering around those stone walls – which are gorgeous but basically turn into an oven by midday – coming back to take a dip feels like pure luxury. The pool area has this relaxed vibe where you can actually hear birds chirping instead of tour guides with megaphones, which is… well, it’s kind of rare in Dubrovnik these days. The apartment itself is spacious enough that you don’t feel like you’re living on top of each other, and the kitchen is properly equipped if you want to grab some fresh fish from the morning market near Gruž harbor and cook it yourself.

What I really appreciated was how the place strikes this balance between being tourist-friendly but not touristy, if that makes sense. The neighborhood feels genuinely Croatian – you’ll see locals walking their dogs in the evening, kids playing in the small park nearby, that sort of thing. Parking can be a bit tricky (honestly, that’s just Dubrovnik for you), but there’s usually space if you’re not too picky about walking an extra block or two. Sure, it’s not right in the heart of the old town, but frankly, that’s a blessing.
