Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Apartment Petra IV? The address says “Old Town” but honestly, it’s tucked away on this quiet little street called Stulina where you can actually hear yourself think. I mean, you’re still smack in the middle of everything – literally a two-minute walk to the Stradun – but somehow you’ve escaped that constant buzz of tourist chatter that follows you everywhere else in Dubrovnik’s historic center.
The apartment itself feels like someone’s stylish Croatian aunt decided to rent out her place (in the best possible way). It’s got that perfect balance of old-world charm and modern comfort that’s actually hard to find in these ancient stone buildings. The beds are proper comfortable, not those rock-hard European mattresses that leave you wondering if you’ve been sleeping on a medieval torture device. And the AC works – trust me, this matters more than you think when you’re visiting in July or August. I loved how the morning light filtered through the windows, casting these beautiful shadows on the stone walls that reminded you exactly where you are without beating you over the head with tourist-trap décor.
What really won me over was the little details that show someone actually cares about this place. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to grab fresh bread from the bakery on Prijeko Street (just around the corner, by the way) and have a proper breakfast before the day-trippers arrive. The shower pressure is surprisingly good – honestly, I’ve stayed in expensive hotels where the water just sort of dribbles out apologetically. Here, it’s like they understand that after climbing those city walls in the heat, you want a real shower, not a gentle mist.
The location is quietly brilliant. You’re close enough to pop out for dinner at one of those hidden konobas on the side streets, but far enough from the main drag that you won’t be kept awake by drunk tourists stumbling back from the nightlife district. I actually slept better here than at some of the fancy hotels up on the cliffs – there’s something about being nestled in these thick stone walls that just feels… safe? Cozy? Plus, if you’re planning to do the Game of Thrones tour thing (and honestly, who isn’t?), you’ll recognize half the views from your morning coffee.
The 8.9 rating makes total sense to me. It’s not trying to be a luxury resort – it’s just a really well-executed apartment that understands what travelers actually want. Good WiFi, reliable hot water, a comfortable bed, and a location that lets you experience Dubrovnik like you’re staying in someone’s neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble. If you’re the type who’d rather spend your money on amazing Croatian wine and fresh seafood instead of overpriced hotel amenities you’ll never use, this is your spot.

Amazing location in the heart of Old Town. No big steps to get to the apartment or anything. Clean, good shower and bed. Breakfast is omletes or a toastie from Cafe Festival which is perfect and light.
What could be improved: This is more of a tip for the next person: Bit of bother checking in. If you're arriving late into Dubrovnik do get onto the host first when you're 10 mins away. We arrived around 11pm and we didn't realise we'd to wait for the key as on booking.com it says there's a front desk so we went around in circles for 40 mins thinking we were at the wrong place before contacting the host. The host is brilliant tho and was there in no time after we contacted him.Línda from United States – 12 July 2024 (9/10)

This beautiful and well appointed apartment is so easy to access, it is near all sorts of wonderful eateries, and the owner and her staff provide exceptional service(s). We utilized the transportation offered and were met at the airport with a beautiful Mercedes which delivered us to Dubrovnik Old Town where we were met by Matej, who assisted us to the apartment, and provided us with an outstanding orientation to the apartment. Matej was a real help with several requests including a split airport pickup.
There is a delicious breakfast included with the apartment at Cafe Festival- the fresh squeezed orange juice is such a treat. Don't just eat breakfast there- there is a diverse menu with many Croatian dishes
What could be improved: We have stayed at other Petra Apartments, this experience equals our other positive experiences. I have no criticism to offerTonie from Australia – 8 June 2024 (8/10)
Great location, very quiet given its in the old town. Checkin was great Matej very helpful. Breakfast was included at the Festival cafe which was great.
What could be improved: Washing machine was great but drying clothes on the clothes rack took a long while because it was indoors. A very small inconvenience.Vaibhav from India – 17 May 2024 (9/10)
Very nice and cosy apartment and child friendly. It has all the amenities you can think of. Location is quiet and peaceful. There are few stairs involved to reach but easily manageable. breakfast at Cafe festival is really good and staff was also very nice. Definitely recommended.
