You know what caught me off guard about Apartment Seven? The name makes it sound like some basic rental, but honestly, this place punches way above its weight class. I mean, we’re talking about a 4-star spot that feels more intimate than your typical Dubrovnik hotel – and trust me, after seeing how packed the Old Town gets, that’s saying something.

The location on Gorica Svetog Vlaha is actually pretty brilliant. You’re in Lapad, which locals will tell you is where they’d rather stay anyway – it’s got this residential vibe without the cruise ship crowds that descend on Pile every morning. I could walk to the main Lapad promenade in maybe five minutes, and there’s this little bakery around the corner (can’t remember the exact name, but it’s the one with the blue awning) where I grabbed coffee most mornings. The apartment itself… well, it’s more like a boutique hotel room but with actual space to spread out. The 9.4 rating makes sense once you’re there – everything just works the way it should, from the air conditioning that actually keeps you cool during those brutal July afternoons to the surprisingly good water pressure in the shower.

What really sold me was the attention to detail that you don’t expect from apartment-style places. The kitchen area had proper glasses, not plastic cups, and the bed was legitimately comfortable – I’m talking hotel-quality linens, not the scratchy stuff you sometimes get in vacation rentals. The balcony (assuming you get one of those units) faces toward the neighborhood rather than some parking lot, so you can actually sit out there in the evenings without feeling like you’re on display. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in Dubrovnik will appreciate – no circling around narrow streets wondering where the hell you’re supposed to leave your car. The whole check-in process was smooth, none of that awkward “meet me at a random corner with a key” situation you sometimes get with apartment rentals. I’d definitely come back, especially during shoulder season when Lapad feels more like an actual neighborhood instead of a tourist zone. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay an extra day just because you’re comfortable, and in a city where everything’s designed to move you along to the next attraction, that’s worth something.
