Hotel Description

You know what really struck me about Apartment Tina? The moment I walked up to 11 Liechtensteinov put, I realized I’d stumbled onto something special in Lapad – and honestly, most people rush right past this neighborhood to get to Old Town. Their loss, really. The building itself has that solid, lived-in Croatian feel without being run-down, and Tina (yes, there’s an actual Tina) greeted me like I was visiting family. That 9.1 rating suddenly made perfect sense.

The apartment itself is what I’d call genuinely comfortable – not Instagram-perfect, but the kind of place where you actually want to hang out after a day of walking Dubrovnik’s stone streets. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to hit the morning market in Gruž (about a 10-minute walk), and there’s this lovely little balcony where you can drink your coffee while listening to the neighborhood wake up. I mean, you’re not getting sea views here, but you’re also not paying sea-view prices, and the trade-off is worth it. The Wi-Fi actually works – I had video calls with zero issues – and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a freight train, which… well, if you’ve stayed in older Croatian apartments, you know why that matters.

What really sold me on the location was how easy everything became once I figured out the bus routes. The 6 bus runs right down to Pile Gate every 15 minutes or so, and suddenly Old Town feels like your backyard instead of this tourist destination you have to “visit.” But here’s the thing – when you come back to Lapad in the evenings, it’s like exhaling. You’ve got the Lapad Bay right there for swimming (the water’s cleaner than the beaches closer to town), decent restaurants that locals actually eat at, and this relaxed vibe that reminded me why I fell in love with Croatia in the first place. The grocery store is literally around the corner, there’s street parking if you’re brave enough to drive in Dubrovnik, and honestly, the whole area just feels more… real? I stayed during August – peak chaos season – and while Old Town was shoulder-to-shoulder tourists, I could walk to a quiet café in Lapad and read a book without someone asking me to move for their selfie. That’s worth its weight in gold, especially when you’re staying somewhere as thoughtfully run as Apartment Tina.

The building is a bit run down, but the apartment is very nice, with a good bed and a big kitchen. The bathroom is quite old but clean. The washing machine is very useful. The apartment is quite well situated and near a bus stop to go.to the old city., or 20 minutes on foot. We were lucky to find free parking just behind the building.

  • Camila from Belgium – 31 July 2024 (10/10)
