Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Apartment Violeta 1? The moment I stepped onto that private terrace, I actually forgot I was in the middle of Dubrovnik. There’s something about being tucked away on Stjepana Cvijića street that feels refreshingly removed from the tourist chaos down in the Old Town – but honestly, you’re still close enough that the evening walk to Pile Gate takes maybe 15 minutes if you’re not in a hurry. The apartment itself has this lived-in comfort that’s hard to fake; I mean, the owner clearly thought about what people actually need when they’re staying somewhere for more than just a night or two. The kitchen’s properly stocked (not just the bare minimum you usually get), and there’s decent counter space, which – trust me – matters when you’re trying to prep a simple breakfast or deal with all the local cheese and wine you’ll inevitably buy at the morning market.
What really sold me on the place was how quiet it gets at night. Stjepana Cvijića isn’t one of those streets where delivery trucks rumble by at 6 AM, and the terrace faces away from the main road, so you get these peaceful mornings with your coffee while the city’s still waking up. The neighbors seem to be a mix of locals and other short-term rentals, but everyone’s respectful – no late-night balcony parties or anything like that. I actually spent most evenings out there with a book and a glass of that local Pošip wine, watching the light change over the rooftops. The apartment’s got that slightly weathered Mediterranean charm without feeling run-down; the floors creak a little in that old-building way, but everything works properly, and the shower has genuinely good water pressure (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always a given in older Croatian buildings).
Parking’s the one thing you’ll want to sort out beforehand – the street’s narrow and spots fill up quick, especially during summer months. But there’s a public lot about a five-minute walk away, and the owner actually gave me pretty detailed directions when I asked. The whole check-in process was refreshingly straightforward too; none of that awkward key-pickup-at-a-different-location nonsense. I think what impressed me most was how the place felt like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile rental unit – there are local art pieces on the walls, decent books on the shelf, and the terrace furniture is comfortable enough that you’ll actually want to use it. For anyone who’s tired of cookie-cutter hotel rooms but still wants reliability and comfort, this spot hits that sweet spot perfectly. Plus, with a 9.3 rating, I’m clearly not the only one who thinks so.

Very clean, modern and spacious with stunning views from the terrace balcony. Also one minute walk away from a local store that had fresh bakery and all the groceries and household items you would need. Absolutely ideal and Perfect.

Such a great apartment, very spacious with a lovely large balcony and everything was spotless. The host was always responsive and nothing was too much trouble. The location was very convenient for day trips to the surrounding islands and with Uber super easy to get to Old town (with children we didn’t want to walk in the heat). I only wish we could have stayed longer.

Very comfortable, clean and quiet stay. Apartment had everything you need and Ivo was a lovely host. Supermarket super close by and bus stop not far.
What could be improved: There are quite a lot of stairs to and from the bus stop so keep this in mind. Too hot in July to walk into the old town.
