I mean, most tourists are scrambling around the Old Town or camping out in Lapad, but here you are in this residential neighborhood where actual Dubrovnik people live. The building itself is pretty straightforward – no fancy lobby or anything – but that 9.3 rating starts making sense the moment you settle in. The rooms are clean and practical, and there’s this quiet efficiency to everything that I really appreciated after dealing with some of the more touristy spots in town.
What really sells this place is the location, though not in the way you’d expect. Sure, you’re close enough to walk to the city walls (maybe 15-20 minutes if you’re not rushing), but the real advantage is that you’re positioned perfectly for exploring beyond the crowded center. The Ploče area has this nice mix of local cafés and small shops, plus you’re actually closer to some of the better swimming spots along the coast. I found myself taking morning walks through the neighborhood before the day got too hot, and you get these glimpses into regular Croatian life that you’d never see staying right in the tourist zone. The parking situation is way more manageable here too – something you’ll definitely appreciate if you’re driving, because finding a spot near the Old Town is basically a nightmare.
Here’s the thing about Lora that surprised me most: it feels authentic without trying too hard. The hosts clearly know what travelers actually need (decent WiFi, proper shower pressure, somewhere to hang wet clothes), and they deliver on those basics really well. The apartments have that slightly worn-in feel that somehow makes them more comfortable, not less. I stayed during shoulder season and it was perfectly quiet at night, though I’d imagine it might get a bit livelier in peak summer when all the nearby places fill up. For the price point and that stellar rating, you’re getting solid value – especially if you’re the type who wants to experience Dubrovnik without feeling like you’re trapped in a tourist bubble the entire time.

Exceptional Everything you would want for a holiday apartment. Hosts very friendly and the balcony has a great view.
What could be improved: Nothing to do with the apartment itself, but the steps up are no joke.

Worth the stay if you can handle the stairs Everything was clean and there was everything you could need: air conditioning, towels, beach towels, cosmetics, dishes, umbrellas... The views were amazing and the host was so lovely and kind!
What could be improved: Only negative was the amount of stairs you had to walk to get up there.

The owner also sorted a taxi pick up for us and an Uber when we were leaving, she also kept hold of our bags for the day and was super friendly and helpful

We really enjoyed our stay at the apartment. Dubrovnik is very expensive. It is a beautiful apartment. Very clean and well located. About 10 / 15 mins walk to the old town.
Ana the owner is very communicative and helpful with advise and the view from the apartment over the old city is spectacular.
What could be improved: The only down side was the amount of steps to climb going back to the apartment from the old town, but we knew about this before booking. It's ok going down as it's all down hill. Wouldn't be suitable for anyone with a disability or breathing problems
