When I first walked into Apartments Bonavista – Premium Two Bedroom Apartment with Balcony and Sea View A2, honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from what sounds like a mouthful of a name. But you know what? This place completely surprised me. The apartment sits in Ploce, which — and I can’t stress this enough — is absolutely the sweet spot for staying in Dubrovnik. You’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the cruise ship crowds that descend on the Old Town every morning.
I mean, they’re not kidding about that perfect location score. From here, you can walk to the Old Town in about ten minutes, but more importantly, you can escape back to peace and quiet whenever the tourist madness gets overwhelming. The Ploce area has this residential feel that most visitors never experience — you’ll see locals doing their grocery shopping and kids playing in small parks. There’s also parking included, which honestly saved me a fortune since finding a spot near Dubrovnik’s center usually costs more than dinner.
The two-bedroom setup works really well, especially if you’re traveling with another couple or family. Each room has enough space to actually unpack your suitcase — something you don’t always get in European accommodations. The kitchen came in handy more than I expected; there’s a small market just down the street where you can grab fresh bread and local cheese for breakfast. But let’s be real, the star here is that balcony with sea views. I spent way too many evenings out there with a glass of Croatian wine, watching the light change over the Adriatic.
The whole place feels more like staying in someone’s well-appointed home than a typical rental. Everything works properly — the WiFi, the air conditioning, the shower pressure. These might sound like basic things, but trust me, they’re not always guaranteed in vacation rentals. The building itself is quiet, and I never had issues with noise from other guests or the street. You’ll also notice how clean everything is; whoever manages this place clearly takes pride in the details.
Look, couples especially seem to gravitate toward this spot, and I get why. There’s something romantic about having your own private terrace overlooking the sea, plus the freedom to come and go as you please without dealing with hotel schedules. The location gives you the best of both worlds — you can walk to Dubrovnik’s famous walls and historic sites, but you can also discover the quieter side of the city that most tourists miss entirely. For the price point and the space you get, it’s actually quite reasonable compared to cramped hotel rooms in the Old Town that cost twice as much.
