Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Apartments Kuzman? The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience Dubrovnik without feeling like you’re trapped in a tourist snow globe. It’s tucked away on Brgatska Street in Ploče – which, okay, sounds fancy but it’s actually this quiet residential area that feels refreshingly normal after battling the crowds in Old Town.
The thing is, you’re literally a 10-minute walk from Pile Gate, but here’s the kicker – you can actually sleep at night. I mean, anyone who’s stayed right in the historic center knows how those ancient stone walls amplify every drunk British stag party at 2 AM. At Kuzman’s place, you get that neighborhood vibe where locals are walking their dogs and hanging laundry, but you’re still close enough to grab morning coffee before the tour buses descend. The apartments themselves are… well, they’re exactly what you’d expect from a solid 3-star place. Nothing fancy, but everything works. The owner, Kuzman (yeah, it’s actually his name), clearly knows what travelers need – decent wifi, air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a helicopter, and kitchenettes with actual sharp knives. Small detail, but you’d be surprised how many places give you butter knives and expect you to chop tomatoes.
What I really appreciated was the balcony situation – most units have them, and while you won’t get those postcard sea views, you’re looking out over real Dubrovnik life. Plus, there’s street parking that’s not impossible to find, which is honestly a miracle in this city. The walk to Banje Beach takes maybe 15 minutes if you’re not in a rush, and you’ll pass this little bakery that opens at 6 AM – their burek is absolutely worth the early wake-up call. Here’s something the guidebooks won’t tell you: the 8.7 rating this place has is probably because Kuzman actually responds to messages and shows up when he says he will. Sounds basic, but in peak summer when half the accommodation owners are overwhelmed, that reliability matters. The building itself is pretty typical Croatian residential – concrete, functional, not particularly charming from the outside but solid. Check-in was smooth, though like most places here, it’s not a 24-hour desk situation. The neighborhood gets properly quiet after dinner, and honestly, after a day of navigating Stradun elbow-to-elbow with cruise ship passengers, that peace is worth its weight in gold. If you’re someone who needs to be right in the thick of things, this might feel too removed, but for most people who want to actually rest between sightseeing sessions, it hits that sweet spot.

Spacious, Spotless, great view! Lots of reviews mention the steps to the apartment.. a taxi is only 5-6 euro and drops right outside. It really does suit everyone. Maria is one of the best hosts ever!

the view was amazing! it was quiet and the host was amazing. Great recommendations and a beer when we arrived was very nice!
What could be improved: haha I feel like everyone says it… stairs. we counted 448, in saying that we knew what we were up for and after we had rested for 10 mins with a beer on the balcony all was forgotten.
