First Impressions
Walking through the ancient stone streets of Dubrovnik’s Old Town to find Apartments Simović Old Town feels like stepping into a medieval fairy tale — except you’re actually heading to your accommodation for the night. The building sits right on Od Sorte street, and I mean right in the thick of things. You’re literally surrounded by centuries-old architecture, with the kind of cobblestones that make you grateful you packed comfortable shoes. This four-star property doesn’t try to compete with the historic grandeur around it, but honestly, it doesn’t need to.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about staying in Dubrovnik’s Old Town — most places claim to be “centrally located,” but Apartments Simović Old Town actually delivers on that promise. You can stumble out the front door and be at Stradun (the main pedestrian street) in about two minutes. The city walls? Even closer. I watched couples wandering hand-in-hand to morning coffee spots, and you know what, I get why they rated the location so highly for romantic trips. Everything you came to Dubrovnik to see is within a five-minute walk, which means more time exploring and less time figuring out directions through those winding medieval streets.
The Apartment Experience
The rooms here are proper apartments, not just hotel rooms with a mini-fridge shoved in the corner. You get actual kitchen space, which comes in handy when you want to grab fresh produce from the morning market and prepare something simple. The beds — and I’m someone who usually struggles with hotel mattresses — are genuinely comfortable. After long days walking those stone streets (and trust me, your feet will feel every step), sinking into a bed that actually supports your back makes all the difference. The apartments feel more like staying in a local friend’s place than a typical tourist accommodation.
Living Like a Local
What I really appreciated was how the setup lets you experience Dubrovnik beyond the typical tourist routine. You can hear the morning sounds of the Old Town waking up — vendors setting up, locals heading to work, the gentle hum of daily life that most visitors miss when they’re staying outside the walls. The apartment style means you can take your time getting ready, maybe enjoy coffee on your own schedule instead of rushing to beat breakfast crowds. It’s that kind of flexibility that transforms a trip from feeling like a checklist of sights into something more authentic.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
The combination of being genuinely inside the Old Town (not just “near” it) and having comfortable, well-equipped apartments creates something special. You’re not just visiting Dubrovnik — you’re temporarily living there. When couples rate the location a 9.3, they’re talking about being able to step outside for a romantic evening stroll without planning transportation or timing. When guests rave about the beds, they mean actually sleeping well instead of tossing and turning on a too-soft hotel mattress. Apartments Simović Old Town gets the balance right between authentic local experience and modern comfort, which honestly isn’t as common as you’d hope in a place this historic.

What Our Guests Say
Location was fantastic, right in the heart of the old town, but away from the noise and bustle of the main tourist areas
Loved the cleanliness of the apartment, it was literally spotless. The location is perfect, quiet location but stunning views of the walls, the fort and mountainous backdrop to Dubrovnik
What could be improved: Nothing
The owner was very nice.
Location was fantastic (although be prepared for stairs!) Really good value for money. Host was lovely and very helpful.
What could be improved: The water pressure and temperature in the shower was low. Other than that it was great.
Location was excellent with an incredible view. Apartment was spacious, recently renovated and spotless.
Very nice apartment in the middle of the old town.
It was so lovely. So nice and fresh had a washing machine and everything you needed.
What could be improved: That it was at the very top of the stairs but well worth it, there isn’t anywhere on dibrovnic without stairs
Great location and lovely property with beautiful views.
What could be improved: Nothing, it was a great apartment
I contacted the host and was able to access the apartment earlier than expected. The directions given were great, with the photos helpful. The apartment was comfortable, with everything I needed. I was given assistance with my luggage when I left, even though it was 6am. I really enjoyed my stay.
What could be improved: I knew being in the Old City that access would possibly be challenging, and navigating the stairs certainly gave my legs a good workout.
