Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Dubrovnik, and Apartments Tayra is honestly one of those finds that makes you feel like you cracked some sort of local code. It’s tucked away on Ivana Gorana Kovačića – which sounds intimidating but locals just call it the street behind the main Lapad area – and that location is actually perfect. You’re close enough to walk to decent restaurants and that nice stretch of Lapad beach in about ten minutes, but far enough from the tourist chaos that you can actually sleep at night.

The apartments themselves have this clean, modern vibe without feeling sterile, you know? I mean, they’re not trying to be some fancy boutique place with weird art everywhere, but everything just works. The kitchenettes are properly equipped – like, you can actually cook a real meal if you want to, not just heat up instant noodles. The air conditioning runs quietly (crucial during those sweltering July nights), and honestly, the wifi is better than what I have at home. What really got me was the little balcony situation – most units have them, and you get these glimpses of the Adriatic between the buildings if you crane your neck just right. It’s not a dramatic sea view, but there’s something nice about catching that blue shimmer while you’re having morning coffee.

The woman who runs the place – I think her name is Marija – actually knows what she’s doing. Check-in was smooth, she gave me real recommendations (not just the touristy stuff), and when I had a minor issue with the shower head, she had someone fix it within an hour. That 9.3 rating makes total sense when you experience that kind of attention. Parking can be a bit tricky in the area, but she’ll point you toward the spots that actually work for longer stays. One thing to know – you’re in a residential neighborhood, so it gets properly quiet after about 10 PM, which is either perfect or boring depending on what you’re after. If you want to stumble home from bars at 2 AM, you’ll be taking taxis from the Old Town or Lapad center, but honestly, that’s probably a good thing for most people. The bus connections are solid during the day, and you’ll figure out the rhythm pretty quickly. It’s one of those places where you settle in and start feeling like you’re actually staying in Dubrovnik, not just passing through it.

  Great location near the main port and bus/ coach station. Easy access to local amenities and a beautiful view from the balcony. The studio was a great size for slightly longer stays! The staff were really welcoming, friendly and helpful. It felt safe and was in a quiet location (quiet and blackout curtains for good quality sleep). Overall, my partner and I really enjoyed our stay and thought it was a wonderful choice if you're looking for somewhere to stay in Dubrovnik.

  The perfect spot for exploring the city of Dubrovnik. the host was exceptional- he went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect for us and even let us check out a little later. the room was spacious with a brilliant view over the bay – perfect to watch the sunset. The room was perfectly equipped with everything you could need to stay – there was even 2 fridges and the best ( much needed) air con!! It is in a perfect location a 8 min walk from the ferry port and the bus station. There is a super market and bakery 3 mins walk away. To get to the old town we used the number 1 bus which runs every 15 mins and cost 2.5 euros. There were plenty of cafes and restaurant bars close by with a good choice of food – much cheaper than in the old town.
  The room was spacious , very clean and well kept. Would definitely recommend!
  
  What could be improved: It is at the top of a hill ( hence the amazing view!) so you might need a taxi if you are unfit.

  The host ”Muki” is an absolute gem of a person. He made us feel so welcome and was super kind and friendly. He even jumped up on his scooter and drove down to the Main Street to give us directions, as he -up on his balcony-had spotted us taking a wrong turn on the street. Absolute star! The place is close to the city Center and a bus stop and a Konzum supermarket nearby. The Wien from the balcony is really nice.
