First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Apartments Villa Victoria 2 on Ulica Frana Supila, I’ll be honest — the building itself doesn’t scream “wow” from the outside. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that surprise you. This four-star property sits quietly in Ploče, which turned out to be one of those discoveries that makes you feel like you’re in on a local secret. The fact that there’s parking right on site immediately won me over — anyone who’s tried to navigate Dubrovnik’s old streets with a rental car will understand why that’s huge.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s the thing about staying in Ploče versus the Old Town — you get the best of both worlds without the tourist chaos. I could walk to Dubrovnik‘s famous walls in about ten minutes, but when I came back in the evenings, it felt like stepping into a neighborhood where actual people live. The couples’ rating of 8.4 for the location makes total sense to me. There’s something romantic about having those stunning Adriatic views without fighting crowds for every photo, and honestly, the sunsets from this area hit different.

The Apartment Experience

My room — well, apartment really — had that lived-in comfort that hotels sometimes miss. The kitchen wasn’t just for show either; I actually used it to make coffee in the mornings and store those amazing Croatian pastries I kept buying. The space felt more like borrowing a friend’s place than staying in typical tourist accommodation. Everything was clean and functional, though I wouldn’t call the decor particularly exciting — think comfortable rather than Instagram-worthy.

What the Ratings Don’t Tell You

That 9.3 rating starts to make sense when you realize it’s the little things that add up. The Wi-Fi actually worked well enough for video calls back home. The air conditioning didn’t sound like a jet engine. And the staff — when I needed them — were genuinely helpful rather than just polite. I mean, they helped me figure out the best route to avoid the cruise ship crowds, which saved my sanity more than once. The excellent location score of 9.0 isn’t just about proximity to attractions; it’s about being positioned where you can actually enjoy Dubrovnik like a person, not just a tourist.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t the fanciest place you’ll ever stay, but it gets the fundamentals so right that you stop caring about fancy. You’ve got independence with the apartment setup, you’re not paying Old Town prices, and you can actually park your car without selling a kidney. For couples especially, there’s something appealing about having your own space to decompress after long days of sightseeing. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying longer than planned because it just… works. And in a city where so many accommodations feel like tourist traps, that’s worth more than you might think.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Letting communication and checked in with us throughout our stay.
We had great views and having a washing machine came in handy.
15-20 minute walk to old town was great. Buses also stop close to the property if you don’t want to walk.

Property was very clean, the beds were super comfortable, and the apartment seemed to have everything we needed. Shower is worth a mention too, very nice.
Luksa was also really helpful and on hand for any of the issues we had.
The location was good, not far from The Old Town which was really lovely.
Also the view from the balcony on a sunny day across to the old town was a good start to the day.

What could be improved: Unfortunately there was a major storm while we were there and the roof started to leak.
We called Luksa and he answered immediately. Although he was limited on what he could do, he put our mind at ease.

The room was small, the bed was very comfortable and there was enough space for a couple of nights. The tiny kitchennette had everthing you needed to make breakfast or a drink. The terrace was lovely and had a sea view

Views were breathe taking. Luksa was such a great Host, picked us and dropped is off to the airport for a small fee, making the experience even more enjoyable. What can I say...the apartment was in a fantastic location with views to take your breath away.. clean and comfortable... a 15 minute walk into the old town..which was much needed as sitting most of the time with work.. Luksa was always on hand if needed..we really did enjoy our time in this beautiful country...only downside was how expensive everything was..no reflectionon our host .....and how every restaurant had the same Menu...Apart from one Restaurant we found called Trattoria Carmen. food was freshly made and amazing...Host ( Disappointed I can not remember her name, but i know she was one of the owners) was so friendly, welcoming.and duch a good laugh.even giving us a gift of our favourite wine and candle on our last night....highly recommend this restaurant and worth the wait for a table 🥰... thank you for the memories Croatia 💖💖 @Trattoria Carmen

Beautiful location, clean and bathroom with shower always the most important

What could be improved: We were late with check in and owner was not amused … parking is a problem … and original apartment booked was not allocated to us.

Spotlessly clean comfortable bed, nice view from the balcony, owners helped us as we both had forgotten our phone charges and lent us there’s, whenever we needed to message them they returned our messages immediately, so we couldn’t fault the apartment or the owners and would have no reason to not recommend them to anyone who would like to stay there thank you
