You know what struck me first about the Ballerina Apartment? The name actually makes sense once you’re inside – there’s this elegant, almost dance-like flow to how the spaces connect. I mean, it’s not some cheesy ballet-themed place, but there’s definitely a graceful quality to the layout that you don’t expect from most vacation rentals in Dubrovnik.

The location on Stolačka is honestly pretty brilliant. You’re close enough to the Old Town that you can walk there without breaking a sweat (maybe 10-15 minutes if you’re not rushing), but far enough out that you escape the absolute chaos of cruise ship crowds. I stayed here during peak summer, and while the main tourist areas were completely packed, this neighborhood had this nice residential feel where you’d actually hear Croatian being spoken on the street. The building itself is well-maintained – not brand new, but solid, and the apartment has that 4-star comfort level without feeling stuffy or overly formal.

What really won me over was the attention to practical details that most places completely ignore. The Wi-Fi actually works reliably (huge deal when you’re trying to stay connected), the kitchen has everything you need if you want to grab groceries from the local market, and – this might sound weird – but the shower pressure is fantastic. After walking around Dubrovnik’s stone streets all day, that matters more than you’d think. The host was responsive without being overbearing, and check-in was straightforward. Honestly, the whole experience felt more like staying at a friend’s well-appointed apartment than a typical tourist rental. The 9.1 rating doesn’t surprise me at all – it’s the kind of place that gets the fundamentals right while still having enough character to feel special. If you’re looking for something that gives you a genuine taste of living in Dubrovnik rather than just visiting it, this hits that sweet spot perfectly.

  What could be improved: This is not about the property but the closest laundry charges ten euros for an industrial load. Avoid if solo.

  Very pleasant and artsy apartment, easy to find, convenient to stay for few days. Zrinka gave us very useful advices. 15 minutes to get to the center, grocery stores and bus station are close as well.

  Great location for us. It had a great kitchen and a separate bedroom and was very roomy. Having a washing machine was wonderful.

  Highly recommend to book a car space as parking in Dubrovnik is really expensive.

  View is stunning, and apartment is very nice. Close to city centre by feet. The host was extremely kind: we asked for a parking spot and they had one available, but it might not always be the case. Beds were comfy, air conditioning was available but mostly not needed.
