Overall it was a very bright and clean apartment, with a nice kitchen and bedroom space. We didn’t cook anything while we were there, but the coffee maker was handy. The location was perfect, a quiet street very near the old town. Also the view from the window was incredible, and we loved watching the cinema every night! (it never finished late, so we got to sleep fine)
What could be improved: There wasn’t a space to hang clothes (not that I could reach anyway!), and a couple of times the shower went cold on me, but it never happened to my husband weirdly. All small things though, I would definitely recommend it and would stay here again :)

Cinema View House
You know what struck me first about Cinema View House?
You know what struck me first about Cinema View House? The name actually makes sense – and I mean that in the best way possible. When you’re standing on Puzljiva ulica (which locals just call “the quiet street behind Stradun”), you can literally see the old Jadran Cinema building from some of the windows. It’s one of those details that feels authentic rather than gimmicky, especially in a city where half the “boutique” places seem to have names pulled from a tourism handbook.
The location is honestly perfect if you want to be in Old Town without dealing with the cruise ship crowds every time you step outside. Puzljiva ulica is this narrow, stone-paved street that runs parallel to the main drag – close enough that you’re a two-minute walk from everything, but tucked away enough that you can actually have a conversation without shouting over tour groups. I stayed there in July (I know, I know, rookie mistake timing-wise) and was amazed how much quieter it was than my friend’s place right on Stradun. The building itself has that weathered limestone look that screams “I’ve been here since before your guidebook was written,” but inside it’s been updated without losing the character. The rooms aren’t huge – we’re talking Old Town realistic, not American hotel spacious – but they’re thoughtfully laid out. The AC actually works (crucial in summer), and the Wi-Fi is solid, which honestly can’t be said for every place within the city walls.
What really won me over was the staff’s local knowledge. The woman at reception – I think her name was Marija – didn’t just hand me a generic map and send me on my way. She actually walked me through which parts of the walls to visit early morning versus evening for the best light, told me about a tiny konoba tucked away near Pile Gate that doesn’t even have a sign, and warned me that the narrow stairs leading down to the street can get slippery when it rains (saved me from a potentially embarrassing tumble). The 8.3 rating feels about right – it’s not luxury, but it’s genuine and comfortable. There’s no fancy lobby to Instagram, but there’s also no pretense. You’re staying in someone’s carefully maintained piece of Dubrovnik history, and they want you to love the city as much as they do. If you’re the type who needs a pool and room service, look elsewhere. But if you want to fall asleep to the sound of waves hitting the old harbor walls and wake up to church bells instead of car horns, this is your spot.

What Our Guests Say
Location was very good, apartment was spacious.
Excellent location. Right in the heart of the old town of dubronovik.
Room was comfortable and quiet.
What could be improved: Just to be mindful if you have a lot of luggage that there is quite a few stairs leading up to the property and in the property itself. Not a real issue just to be aware.
Amazing view, lovely bright, airy, clean room and good facilities. Small and cosy. Great spot near to the walls. Fridge is room and proper body wash / shampoo.
What could be improved: Not staffed. Lots and lots of steps which don’t bother us but as we are travelling to several destinations we had a large case with us so really tricky to manage if you have heavy luggage, would be absolutely fine with rucksacks or small cases though.
Tea making was herbal tea only.
Very pleasant room in an amazing location
Good location
Clean
Comfortable
Easy self check in
What could be improved: I felt that the room was expensive for what it is - a room in a house effectively, but appreciate Dubrovnik is an expensive place
The aircon isn’t great, we were incredibly hot during the night even with it on full blast, I don’t think we could’ve stayed beyond 1 night due to this
Despite the steps it was excellent location
Based in the old town and very central for sightseeing.
Beautiful location and airy and bright
What could be improved: Nothing
Excellent location, room is basic but has everything you would need. Room 1 has a nice view of the city and mountains. Owners were excellent and very helpful. When we had a small maintenance issue, they were at the property within minutes. Some reviews saying lots of steps at property, but only one small flight of stairs.
What could be improved: Nothing
It’s inside old town & with nice view
What could be improved: Only stairs
