First Impressions
Walking up to Down Town Apartments – One Bedroom Apartment with Balcony, you immediately understand why couples rate this place so highly. The building sits right in the heart of Dubrovnik’s old town area, and I mean really in the thick of things — you can practically hear the buzz of the main pedestrian streets from your window. It’s one of those four-star properties that doesn’t try to be flashy, but honestly, the location does all the talking. The entrance is understated, which I actually appreciated after seeing some of the more touristy places around town.
The Apartment Layout
The one-bedroom setup works perfectly for two people, and trust me, you’ll spend most of your time on that balcony anyway. The living area flows naturally into a compact kitchen that’s actually functional — not just for show like some apartment rentals I’ve stayed in. What struck me most was how they’ve maximized the space without making it feel cramped. The bedroom gets decent natural light, and there’s enough storage that you won’t be living out of your suitcase for the entire stay. The bathroom is modern and clean, though nothing particularly fancy — it does the job well.
That Balcony Though
You know what really sells this place? That balcony they mention in the name isn’t just a marketing gimmick. It’s actually a proper outdoor space where you can sit with your morning coffee and watch Dubrovnik wake up below. I spent way more time out there than I expected, especially in the evenings when the crowds thin out and you get this perfect view of the old town’s rooftops. The balcony faces in a direction where you catch both morning sun and some evening light — timing that works perfectly if you’re the type who likes to start and end the day outdoors.
Location Reality Check
Here’s the thing about being this centrally located in Dubrovnik — you’re genuinely within walking distance of everything that matters. The famous city walls are maybe a three-minute stroll, and you can reach the main square in about the same time. But what I really appreciated was being close to some of the quieter side streets where locals actually go for dinner. You’re not stuck in the tourist bubble, even though you’re right in the middle of it all. The downside? It can get a bit noisy during peak season, especially on weekend evenings when the restaurant crowds are out in force.
Why Guests Love It
After staying here, I completely get why couples specifically rave about Down Town Apartments. It strikes this perfect balance between being independent (you’ve got your own space and kitchen) while still being plugged into everything Dubrovnik offers. The apartment gives you room to breathe after long days of sightseeing, but you’re never more than a few minutes from great restaurants or those Instagram-worthy sunset spots along the walls. It’s not trying to be a upscale experience — it’s just a really solid, well-located base that lets you experience the city like you actually live there for a few days.
