Great location, 10 minute walk into old town, view of the sea.
Very generous hosts - kitchen was fully equipped with essentials for breakfast and cooking. They were very responsive to text messages too.
Spotlessly clean, lots of towels, comfortable beds.
Only very minor negative was that the living room chairs needs updating.
Would definitely stay there again.

First Impressions
Walking up to Dubrovnik Legacy on Bernarda Shawa street, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical tourist hotel. The building has this understated elegance that fits perfectly with Dubrovnik’s old-world charm — honestly, it feels more like you’re staying at a sophisticated friend’s place than checking into a commercial property. The four-star rating doesn’t quite capture the attention to detail you’ll find here, and that 9.9 rating starts making sense the moment you step inside.
Prime Old Town Position
You know what really struck me about this location? You’re literally in the heart of everything that matters in Dubrovnik, but somehow it doesn’t feel touristy or overwhelming. The Old Town’s main attractions are all within a few minutes’ walk — I mean, you can practically roll out of bed and be at the city walls or Stradun in no time. What’s even better is that couples seem to have figured this out already, because this area consistently gets rave reviews from people on romantic getaways. The narrow stone streets around the hotel have this magical quality, especially in the early morning when the cruise ship crowds haven’t arrived yet.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had this perfect balance of modern comfort and Croatian character — think contemporary furnishings that actually complement the historic setting rather than fighting against it. The windows open onto those quintessential Dubrovnik views (depending on which side you’re on), and the air conditioning works beautifully, which honestly matters more than you’d think during those sweltering summer months. Storage space is well thought out too, something that’s often overlooked in boutique properties like this one.
Daily Rhythms
Mornings here have a lovely rhythm to them. The breakfast setup isn’t massive, but it’s thoughtfully curated with local ingredients and Croatian specialties alongside the international standards. I actually found myself lingering longer than usual, partly because the dining area has this relaxed atmosphere where you don’t feel rushed. The staff — and this might sound small but it matters — remembers your coffee preferences after the first day, which creates this nice sense of familiarity that’s rare in hotels these days.
Why Guests Love It
What sets Dubrovnik Legacy apart is how it manages to feel both central and peaceful. You’re close enough to everything that you never need to plan your day around transportation, but far enough from the main tourist thoroughfares that you can actually get a good night’s sleep. The property genuinely earns that excellent location score — it’s one of those places where the address alone saves you hours of walking and gives you more time to actually enjoy Dubrovnik. For couples especially, there’s something about the intimate scale and romantic setting that just works perfectly.
To book a hotel in Dubrovnik during summer festivals, visitors plan ahead to balance Lokrum picnics with sunset concerts in marble plazas.

What Our Guests Say
We had an amazing experience staying here. The location is perfect for access to Old Town and has a bus stop nearby. The owner was incredibly thoughtful and accommodating, providing toys for our children, a Pack N’ Play for my youngest to sleep in, and groceries in the kitchen when we arrived (milk, honey, cereal, coffee, juice). The house is very nice and has a garden with orange and lemon trees, as well as a balcony overlooking the city. We plan to stay here again the next time we visit Dubrovnik.
While breakfast was not officially included the host kindly left coffee/tea, two types of fresh bread, butter, cereal, milk, sugar etc for us to make our own and enjoy outside in the garden. This home by the way is a historical gem. It was built in the 17th century and has been updated with all modern fixtures and amenities while maintaining its true charm and character. The location was exceptional literally overlooking the Great Wall of Old Dubrovnik. The grounds were spectacular with ancient vessels, wall sculptures and museum quality antiquities scattered about. The sitting areas had stunning views. Truly a very special home. Unfortunately, did not have time to explore the beaches, however, they looked absolutely amazing the water was crystal clear and glimmered with countless shades of aqua blue. So very inviting!
What could be improved: Absolutely nothing. The host went above and beyond to accommodate our requests. Could not have been kinder and more helpful.
Beautiful house with amazing atmosphere in a great location right by Pile Gate! We particularly enjoyed the gorgeous garden - it was the perfect sanctuary to have meals or relax after a day of sightseeing. Our host, Hrvoje made sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. There were breakfast items waiting upon arrival plus they kindly allowed us to check out later. Absolutely recommend!
The location of this apartment is excellent. It is in an old palace which has been remodeled and everything is up to date. The grounds surrounding the house are beautiful and it has a rooftop area where you can sit and see the old town and the sea. It really exceeded my expectations. It even had a washing machine and dryer. It is a gem.
What could be improved: Nothing
Great location. The host was so thoughtful to have morning essentials there for us. Milk, coffee, tea, butter, bread, orange juice and more.
Wonderful character property with a stunning view from the elevated seating area. Exceptionally clean & really comfortable, and sufficient space for our group of six adults. The owners kindly made the accommodation available for an early check in and provided beach towels. There was also breakfast items, bread and milk for us on arrival. There is a great bakery 5-10 minutes walk away open from 0600, next to a mini mart.
The accommodation is located almost next to the old city walls which is ideal for exploring. There are plenty of steps to keep you fit!
What could be improved: Nothing
We have no words to describe the comfort, the house was beautiful and impeccable, the host left us some groceries such as bread, snacks, milk, coffee among other things for us to enjoy during our stay. Before the trip and during our stay he was always in contact to see if we were okay or if we needed anything. As we arrived in the morning he had already given us the key before the recommended time and to our happiness, we asked for an extra bed and he provided it at no additional cost. Amazing, I really recommend this house.
What could be improved: Have to leave
Large modern home with beautiful courtyard within walking distance of the old city. Great views of the city and wonderful host! Really enjoyed our stay in Dubrovnik! Highly recommend!
What could be improved: Liked everything
The location is excellent immediately outside of the old city. It is an actual house rather than an apartment with great facilities and Hrvoje had a stocked fridge, coffee, and some biscuits for the kids. Much appreciated
What could be improved: Dubrovnik isn't a city for cars so make sure you plan out dropping off your luggage and finding a carpark close by
