Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Dubrovnik over the years, and honestly? Four Blue Seasons caught me off guard in the best way. It’s tucked away on Ulica Hrvatskog crvenog križa – which I know sounds intimidating to pronounce, but locals just call it the Red Cross street – and that’s actually perfect because you’re close enough to everything without dealing with the tourist chaos that hits the Old Town every morning around 9 AM. The apartments themselves feel like someone’s stylish Croatian aunt decided to rent out her best properties. I mean, these aren’t your typical sterile hotel rooms with beige everything. The spaces have character – think modern fixtures mixed with those beautiful stone details that remind you you’re actually in a centuries-old city.

What really got me was the attention to detail that you don’t expect from apartment-style accommodation. The kitchens are actually functional (shocking, I know), with decent-sized fridges and cookware that isn’t falling apart. You know what’s brilliant? They stock local coffee and some basic Croatian specialties when you arrive, which saved me from that first-day scramble to find a grocery store. The beds are properly comfortable too – not too soft, not like sleeping on concrete – and the linens feel expensive without being fussy. The bathrooms have those rainfall showerheads that actually work well, plus heated floors which is clutch if you’re visiting in shoulder season when Dubrovnik can get surprisingly chilly.

But here’s the thing that really sets this place apart: the staff actually knows the neighborhood. When I asked about avoiding the cruise ship crowds, they didn’t just shrug – they gave me specific timing advice and suggested this little konoba (that’s a traditional tavern) about three blocks away that I never would have found otherwise. The location is honestly ideal if you want to experience Dubrovnik like a person instead of just another tourist taking selfies at the city walls. You’re a pleasant 10-minute walk to Pile Gate, but you can also easily reach the Lapad Peninsula if you want proper beaches instead of the tiny rocky spots near the Old Town. Parking can be tricky in this area – it’s Croatia, after all – but they’ve sorted out arrangements that actually work, which is more than I can say for most places. The 9.4 rating makes complete sense once you’ve been there. It’s not trying to be the flashiest place in town, but everything just… works. And in a city where tourism can feel overwhelming, that’s exactly what you want.

  The property was clean, modern and spacious. Brilliant location. Half an hour walk from the Old Town or bus stop right outside.
  
  What could be improved: Excellent facilities including coffee machine, dishwasher and washing machine. Would have been useful to have a microwave oven.

  The apartment is very clean. They have coffee machine and coffee pods, which is a nice touch. The host is very responsive and cleared our doubts quickly. The apartment is near to the bus stop where the bus to old town is. It is also the pick up point for our day trip. Highly recommended!😀

  Modern and clean apartment. Very close to all the amenities. Bus stop is outside the building and only takes 5 minutes to Old city. Supermarket is less than 5 minutes walk. Bakery is 2 minutes walk. Lot of places to eat outside.
  Host was very good and accessible. Kristijan replied to my messages within seconds. Checking in and checking out was extremely smooth and quick.

  Absolutely fantastic apartment! Really accommodating and helpful staff…
  Great location.
  The old town is about a 20 minute walk (and a nice one at that) or 5 minutes in the bus and the stop is literally outside the apartment!
  Clean! Spacious! Great facilities and quiet! The bedrooms could be made dark and there was little sound! Beds were super comfy! Can’t rate this place enough!

  Everything. Beautiful apartment was fully furnished and equipped with working appliances ( tv , washer, oven, full set of kitchen utensils)…During our 4 day stay, we walked everywhere to Old Town, cable car station, city walls easily (20-30 mins if you stop for photos). Supermarket was next door…highly recommended for families and if you want bonding times with friends..good good location..
