Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name “Guest house AllineedDubrovnik” I thought it was going to be one of those budget places that tries too hard. But you know what? After staying here twice (once in the double room, once splurging on the penthouse), I’m actually impressed with what they’ve pulled together up on Gornji Kono.
The location is what really got me. You’re about a 15-minute walk from the Old Town walls, but here’s the thing – you’re high enough up the hill that you miss most of the cruise ship chaos that swarms the lower streets during summer. I mean, you can still hear the occasional tour group echo up from below, but it’s more like background noise than the full carnival you get closer to Stradun. The free parking thing isn’t just marketing fluff either; finding a spot in Dubrovnik is genuinely painful, and having your own designated space when you roll back from day trips to Korčula or Mljet? That’s worth its weight in gold. The walk up from the main road does get your heart pumping a bit – these Croatian hills don’t mess around – but honestly, after a few days of heavy restaurant meals, you’ll appreciate the built-in exercise.
What surprised me most was how quiet it gets at night. During the day you’ve got that typical Mediterranean hum of cicadas and distant voices, but once the sun goes down, it’s properly peaceful. The penthouse has this little terrace where you can actually see slivers of the Adriatic between the neighboring houses, and I spent way too many evenings out there with a bottle of local wine just watching the city lights flicker on. The studio apartments are more compact but still comfortable – good for couples who plan to spend most of their time exploring rather than lounging around. The double rooms are sort of the sweet spot; not fancy, but clean and well-maintained with decent air conditioning (trust me, you’ll need it in July and August). The whole place has this family-run feel where the owners actually seem to care about the details – fresh towels appear without you asking, the WiFi actually works, and they’re genuinely helpful with restaurant recommendations that aren’t just tourist traps. I particularly remember them steering me toward a little konoba tucked away in Lapad that I never would have found otherwise. The 8.6 rating feels about right; it’s not luxury, but it’s solid, practical, and honestly better than some of the overpriced places closer to the walls that charge twice as much for half the space.

Djordje from Serbia – 28 March 2025 (9/10)
Excellent small apartment on top location, just 10 min walk from the Old Town. Apartment is clean, with enough space for small family and parking space which is great option. You have everything you need in apartment for short stay.
Markéta from Czech Republic – 2 March 2025 (9/10)
It was great! Close to the center and parking included. The apartment was fully equipped, the beds were amazingly comfortable. We arrived in the early evening, thanks to the short distance to the center we walked through Dubrovnik in the evening and went to the walls early in the morning. We warmly recommend this accommodation!
Antonio from Bosnia and Herzegovina – 16 February 2025 (9/10)
The location is great very close to old town.
Apartment is very comfortable and the host is kind.Slavko from Montenegro – 10 February 2025 (9/10)
The guest house is near the Old Town. It has parking just in front of the apartment. It is easy to find, near the main road. The host was kind and friendly, it was so easy to follow his instructions, I did not have to use gps at all. Highly recommended.
Nurul from Malaysia – 2 February 2025 (9/10)
Nice play to stay, very near to the old city. Helpful host
What could be improved: The heater doesn't really reach the bedsYibin from China – 28 December 2024 (8/10)
Location is great, walkable to the old town.
Parking included, great saving from the exaggerating public parking cost.
Beds are comfortable.
The owner is cool and helpful.
What could be improved: The kitchen is rather simple. Open cabinet, limited cookwares are provided. The stove has only one eye, and the ceramic surface is cracked, feels not very safe. There is no dish hanger to dry washed dishes.
No heating in the bathroom, and the tap is broken (but still functional). Hot water nearly reaches its limit if four persons take shower in row.
There is limited clothes hanger provided, you have to eventually make a compromise between coats or towels.
I have the impression that this apartment is more adapted for summer booking, and for people who don’t cook too much.Avadhoot from United Kingdom – 23 October 2024 (8/10)
Exceptional location, Just 10 minutes walk to the old town
Has a small market/bakery nearby
Clean spacious accommodation with 2 double beds.
Prompt and helpful host who communicated very well. No hassle in check in check out.
Had a lovely time in Dubrovnik.
What could be improved: Property opens right on to a small road, so expect some road noise.
No shelf/wardrobe for clothes, not a big negative just a suggestion for improvement.
TV signal was poor (again not a big negative as don't see TV much)Yael from Israel – 21 September 2024 (9/10)
Everything was excellent
Susana from Portugal – 12 September 2024 (9/10)
Location. It was renewed. Owners very helpful.
Dawn from United Kingdom – 14 August 2024 (8/10)
Location was great and the balcony and views
What could be improved: It was very hot and there was only one air conditioning unit in the lounge which wasn’t very effective and didn’t cool the bedrooms
