I was expecting just another apartment rental in Lapad, but this place actually feels like someone’s elegant family home that they’ve opened up to guests. The location on Od Montovjerne is honestly perfect – you’re tucked away in this quiet residential street where locals walk their dogs in the evening, but you can still hear the gentle hum of Dubrovnik life without any of the tourist chaos.

The thing about staying in Lapad is that you get this authentic Croatian neighborhood vibe that most visitors miss entirely. I mean, there’s a little bakery maybe two minutes’ walk away where the owner remembers your coffee order by day three, and the bus to Old Town runs regularly (though honestly, the walk along the coast is so gorgeous you might find yourself skipping the bus altogether). The apartment itself – well, it’s got this understated sophistication that feels genuinely Croatian rather than trying too hard to impress tourists. The furnishings are quality stuff, not the usual rental apartment basics, and there’s actually decent water pressure in the shower, which anyone who’s traveled the Balkans will appreciate. What really got me was the attention to small details… fresh herbs on the balcony that you can actually use, proper blackout curtains so you can sleep past sunrise, and a kitchen that’s equipped like someone who cooks actually set it up.

The whole setup makes you feel less like a tourist and more like you’re staying with sophisticated friends who happen to live in one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Parking can be a bit tricky in this area – it’s that typical European residential situation where you might need to circle the block once or twice – but the trade-off is worth it for the authentic neighborhood feel. During peak season (July and August), you’ll hear more English and German in the streets, but even then it maintains that local character that makes Lapad special. I actually found myself lingering over morning coffee on the balcony way longer than usual, just watching the neighborhood wake up. It’s that kind of place where you start planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out.

  Esta al final de la calle, una gran colina para subirla a pie.
