Hotel Description

You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Hedera Estate when I first pulled up to Vrbica 23 – honestly, the area feels a bit residential and quiet compared to the bustling Old Town. But that’s actually what makes this place kind of special. It’s tucked away in this peaceful neighborhood where you can actually hear yourself think, which is saying something in Dubrovnik during peak season.

The property itself has this interesting mix of traditional Dalmatian architecture with modern touches that don’t feel forced. I mean, you’re not getting the marble lobbies and fancy chandeliers of some five-star places, but there’s something genuine about how they’ve done the interiors. The rooms are solid – nothing groundbreaking, but the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are properly updated (thank god, because I’ve stayed in some “historic” places here where the plumbing felt historic too). What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. You’re far enough from the main tourist drag that you won’t have drunk cruise passengers stumbling around at 2 AM, but close enough that a quick taxi ride gets you to Pile Gate in maybe 10 minutes.

The staff seems to actually know the area well, which is rarer than you’d think. When I asked about avoiding the crowds at the city walls, the front desk guy gave me this whole rundown about timing and alternative routes that clearly came from someone who lives here, not just reads tourist guides. Parking is straightforward too – they’ve got their own spaces, which honestly saves you a massive headache because finding street parking in Dubrovnik is basically impossible. The 7.6 rating makes sense to me; it’s not perfect, and the location might feel a bit removed if you’re the type who wants to stumble out of bed directly into the Old Town action. But if you’re looking for a decent base that won’t break the bank and actually lets you sleep at night, Hedera Estate does the job well. Plus, there’s something to be said for staying where you can grab coffee in the morning without fighting through crowds of day-trippers who’ve just gotten off the ships.

    The location was great – the little beach was wonderful – and there was lots of space for all of us.

    What could be improved: The kitchen was missing some needed items, like oven mitts, and the air conditioner didn't work in one room and it didn't get fixed during our time there. And one of the bathrooms, the shower didn't drain properly – it flooded the floor. If we hadn't had access to some of the other units, it would have been an issue. Also, it would have been nice if there were beach towels provided.

    The property is not a an accurate representation of what the pictures portray. It is not suitable for a group as there is no space that accommodates 7 people and does not have seating for 7. also there are multiple kitchen of which none have even the basic cooking utensils pots or pans. The beds are the most uncomfortable we slept in during our 6 week stay in Italy and croatia.

    What could be improved: We messaged the management and they offered little response and we left and found new accommodation it was so bad. no offer of any kind of refund.

    What could be improved: El aire no servía, la casa está mal distribuida , en la cocina no había todos los elementos para cocinar y era muy distante de supermercado , no sabíamos q hasta para pedir taxi fuera difícil pues quedaba sobre autopista y los taxis no querían bajar a la casa

    Sijainti oli rauhallinen ja sopivan matkan päästä kaupungista. Majoituskohteen tilat olivat väljät ja avarat. Ne riittivät hyvin 9 hengen kokoonpanolle. Näköalat olivat parvekkeelta hienot.

    What could be improved: Majoituskohteesta puuttui astianpesukone. Päätieltä tuleva noin sadan metrin pihatie alas parkkipaikalle tavattoman jyrkkä. Kuivalla kelillä ei ollut ongelmia päästä ylös, mutta sadekelillä ei meinannut renkaat pitää.

    On aurait aimé avoir une bouteille d eau du café des filtres du sel du poivre accompagné d un mot nous demandant de refaire le plein pour le suivant… car arriver le premier soir et se retrouver sans café le lendemain …

    Najbardziej podobał nam się widok za oknem. Plaża tuż przy apartamencie, rewelacja. Apartament bardzo dobrze wyposażony. Niczego nam nie brakowało. Jedynym mankamentem jest stroma droga prowadząca do mieszkania ale z drugiej strony tak wyglądają praktycznie wszystkie podjazdy do mieszkań więc taki to urok tej miejscowość. Apartament czysty ,zadbany. Obsługa miła i pomocna.
