When I first pulled up to Hedera Estate, Villa Hedera VI, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from this five-star property tucked away in Zaton. The villa sits right on the water — and I mean literally steps from your own private beach, which is something you don’t find everywhere along Croatia’s coast. The whole setup feels more like staying at a friend’s incredibly upscale vacation home than a traditional hotel, which actually works in its favor.

This isn’t your typical luxury hotel room situation. You’re getting an entire villa experience here, complete with space to actually spread out and relax. The interiors have that Mediterranean elegance thing down perfectly — think natural stone, warm woods, and those floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the Adriatic like living artwork. Zaton is about 20 minutes from Dubrovnik, which honestly gives you the best of both worlds. The free private parking is actually a bigger deal than you might think — anyone who’s tried to park near Dubrovnik’s old town will tell you that.
