Hotel Description

You know what? I almost walked right past this place on Strossmayera Street – it’s tucked into one of those gorgeous old Dubrovnik buildings that honestly look like they could house anything from a museum to someone’s great-aunt’s apartment. The Historical Old town apartments are exactly what they sound like, but in the best possible way. I mean, you’re literally staying in a piece of the city’s history, and the stone walls and original architectural details remind you of that every time you turn a corner in your room.

The location is pretty much perfect if you actually want to experience Old Town without being right in the tourist chaos. You’re close enough to Stradun (the main pedestrian street) that you can hear the distant hum of activity, but far enough away that you won’t have groups of cruise ship tourists chatting loudly under your window at 7 AM. The apartment I stayed in had these thick stone walls that kept things surprisingly quiet – though honestly, the sound of church bells drifting through the narrow streets in the morning was kind of magical. What really impressed me was how they managed to fit modern amenities into such an old space without making it feel forced or awkward. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, and the kitchenette was actually functional (I made coffee there every morning and a few simple meals).

Here’s the thing about staying in apartments versus hotels in Dubrovnik – you get to live like a local, sort of. I’d grab groceries from the small market near Pile Gate and cook simple dinners, then sit by the window watching people navigate the polished limestone streets below. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward – no fancy lobby nonsense, just practical instructions and someone who clearly knew the building inside and out. Parking is… well, it’s Dubrovnik Old Town, so don’t expect to park right outside. But they give you solid directions to the nearest parking areas, and honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t need a car anyway. Everything worth seeing is within walking distance, and I mean everything – the city walls, Rector’s Palace, those little side streets where you’ll find the best konoba restaurants away from the main tourist drag. The rating of 9 makes total sense to me because this isn’t trying to be a luxury hotel experience – it’s trying to be an authentic way to stay in one of Europe’s most beautiful medieval cities, and it absolutely delivers on that promise.

Absolutely loved my stay here. The check in process was easy and smooth and the location could not have been better. Right in the heart of the Old Town, walking distance from everything but still quiet at night. The room was spacious and comfortable, perfect for a solo traveller or couple. The hosts were incredibly kind and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. They let me check out late when my back was hurting and I needed a bit more time, and also allowed me to leave my luggage until my late flight. If I come back to Dubrovnik I will definitely stay here again. Thank you so much.

I really like the bed, the pillows and the bedding. Extremely comfortable.

What could be improved: It was a bit noisy early in the evening.

  • Grace from United Kingdom – 22 April 2025 (9/10)

Loved the location, on the quiet side of town but just 5 minutes walk from the bars, restaurants and docks.

What could be improved: The hairdryer in the bathroom could do with being updated to something a little more powerful as it took a long time to dry my hair, other than that it was a great property.

  • Daniel from Italy – 22 April 2025 (9/10)

The hosts are awesome. Always quick in responding to any questions via the Booking app. The apartment is comfortable and very well located, in the heart of the Old Town.

  • Roberta from United States – 15 April 2025 (9/10)

The host/owner went above and beyond to make sure the apartment had everything you needed. Always tried her best to make you feel at home. She helped me when I needed guidance to see a doctor and took care of any extra help she could be available for. Lovely family business and a husband and wife team.

What could be improved: Can't think of anything. All good!!

  • Judy from United States – 11 October 2024 (9/10)

Monica our host was always available and accommodating. (Storing our luggage since we had a late flight out) We had lots of privacy and the location was perfect.

  • Beatriz from Colombia – 4 October 2024 (9/10)

Location is great, we would recommend to reach it through the Jesuit stairs, that way there are less stairs and less steep. It was very clean, registration was very easy, and first floor apartment is large and very comfortable

What could be improved: Just a note that Third floor apartment, although also very clean, has very low ceilings and therefore is a little uncomfortable if you want to use the whole space, difficult to stand up straight

  • Brienan from Ireland – 25 September 2024 (9/10)

Very central location, lovely and clean!

  • Marie from France – 12 September 2024 (9/10)

The appartment is very cosy, and Monika is a great host, providing help if needed and very reactive. Everything you need is there (you have a small kitchen) + towels, trashbags, hair dryer etc. The street is super calm, we were here during summer (when it's full of tourists) and we didn't face any issues to sleep peacefully. The localization is great, near basically everything you need & want in Dubrovnik (old town with all the monuments/museums to visit + restaurants & bar + a small supermarket).

What could be improved: Nothing, everything was great. I was a bit scared with some comments, but it was even better than I excepected. I just admit that some people are hard to satisfy 😀

  • Christina from Canada – 5 September 2024 (9/10)

Excellent stay right within the walls of Old town Dubrovnik. Close to everything you need! The host was very kind, was able to let us in early and seamlessly. Room was large and spacious and had a full kitchen. Monika was helpful at communicating over WhatsApp and answered all our questions.
