The view is amazing and the little house is well appointed
What could be improved: That we didn’t reserve it to stay longer

You know what hit me first about Hotel Horizont?
You know what hit me first about Hotel Horizont? The fact that it’s tucked away on this quiet side street just outside the Old Town walls, but you can literally walk to Pile Gate in about three minutes. I mean, most people obsess over staying inside the ancient walls, but honestly – you don’t want to be dragging your luggage up those steep stone steps, and the noise from late-night revelers echoing off medieval walls gets old fast.
The hotel itself feels like someone took a traditional Dalmatian house and gave it a really thoughtful modern makeover. The lobby has these gorgeous local stone accents (you’ll see the same honey-colored limestone everywhere in Dubrovnik), and the staff actually remembers your name after the first day – which sounds small but makes such a difference when you’re figuring out bus schedules to the islands or need dinner reservations somewhere decent. My room had this little balcony that looked out toward the harbor, and I’d sit there in the mornings with coffee listening to the church bells from St. Blaise – way better than staring at another hotel building across a narrow alley. The beds are legitimately comfortable too, which… look, I’ve stayed in enough European hotels with mattresses that feel like medieval torture devices to appreciate when someone gets this right.
What really sold me on this place was how the location works in practice. You’re close enough to walk everywhere that matters – the cable car up Mount Srđ is maybe ten minutes away, and you can reach the main drag of Stradun without dealing with the cruise ship crowds that clog up the main entrances. There’s actually decent parking nearby (crucial if you’re planning day trips along the coast), and you’re right by where the local buses stop if you want to hit the beaches at Lapad or venture out to Cavtat. The whole Zrinsko-Frankopanska area has this residential feel where you’ll see locals heading to work in the morning, not just tourists taking selfies. After a few days of fortress walls and Game of Thrones tour groups, that normal neighborhood vibe becomes surprisingly refreshing. Plus, the hotel’s breakfast spread includes some local specialties – not just international buffet stuff – and they’ll pack you something to-go if you’re catching an early ferry to the islands. With a 9.8 rating, I went in with high expectations, and honestly? It delivered on all of them.

What Our Guests Say
Excellent design. Lovely. What all stays should look & feel like.
This property has everything you need! It is spacious with a full bedroom, bathroom & washer, kitchen, and living room with a couch! We were greeted upon arrival and given a bunch of helpful tips about getting into old town as well as some amazing cafe, restaurant, and sight seeing recommendations◡̈ Their hospitality made our stay that much better❤️ We will 100% be coming back and recommend this property to anyone planning a Dubrovnik trip.
Lovely modern property with amazing views. Hosts were helpful and responsive from the time of booking to the end of our stay. Conveniently located; a 10-15 minute walk to the old town, with other local amenities nearby. Optional airport transfer added further convenience and was greatly appreciated. The property's amenities (TV, full kitchen, etc.) made it a home way from home. Terrace was an added bonus, perfect for having breakfast al fresco or evening drinks under the stars. Clean, safe and comfortable, can't recommend this place enough!
Great private appartment with modern amenities. The view was a highlight. The patio was a nice spot to have coffee or a glass of wine. The host was responsive. The shower head was very nice and luxurious. It was nice to have a washer in the unit.
What could be improved: After a while the stairs from the old town to the appartment got to us but the place and views made up for it. A few items in the kitchen could be added for extra convenience. The bed was a bit hard for our preference, maybe a mattress topper would help.
Lovely modern accommodation with everything you may need
Close to the old town and also very quiet.
We had a wonderful stay in Dubrovnik at Horizont! The place was absolutely beautiful, clean and comfortable. Marijana was lovely, we highly recommend staying here ☺️
Great location just a walk from the old town, amazing view of the city
What could be improved: Nothing
The view is everything !!! From bed, from shower, from kitchen, from....everywhere :-))) Great owners, perfect location and really cool design made our stay. I am writing this review month later during christmas holiday. Just sentimental how great it was. And for all the stairs haters, we did it with the 11month baby :-)
